I don't think I've used a cheat code since probably middle school.

Not counting during dev/debug.

There were only like a couple of games that did the cheats right (besides GTA)

Personally I don't care since I play on PC where you can just mod stuff.
Besides I'm not finding the fun of bashing my face against the keyboard anymore, while on God-mode.

And we are seeing co-op games and achievements so it's just extra tedious to program so it won't affect them.
Cheat codes can die for all I care, it was fun while I was in elementary school~

the thing is... there are are some items in video games that can only be unlocked with cheats... like Saints Row 3, if ya want the decker cyber smg, you need a cheat code, same for the decker sword, the decker Hammer, and a bunch of other things...

but I love cheat codes, without them I couldn't spawn cars in GTA 4 whenever I need one...
I wish more games had cheat codes for spawning vehicles and weapons... I need those cars to get around Liberty city, and San Andreas,
or Steelport, and Stillwater... it would help in other games too...

I wish Mafia 2 had codes to spawn all them classic cars... why no codes mafia?

but then there's Gmod, don't need no cheats, just need downloaded vehicles, then I can spawn them all the time! sadly it's hard to get Gmod to work anymore... darn thing freezes alot...

Mods and TCs mostly...the occasional ROM hack...

I never ever enjoyed a game more for cheating. It always drained the point of it away, for me.

I noticed some people like to play, say... Grand Theft Auto by turning on all the cheats and then going mental for hours. I used to like doing the missions and things.

Yeah, that was definitely me when the first game came out way back when. An angsty teen's dream come true.

Nowadays I try playing it (and the second game) and it's like they didn't intend for anyone to play them without cheating...so frustratingly difficult sometimes >_<

I played Destroy All Humans! and beat the game by cheating and then watched the movie featuring the evolution of the game as it was going through all of the beta development and at the end, the developers said "If you unlocked this movie by beating the game with the cheats then we obviously have no respect for you." Despite they said that, I digress. It kind of explains why there wasn't any health and ammo cheats in the second game. I beat the second game despite that I died 13 times and I was stuck on Mission 8 the longest. Those stupid protect Natalya missions!

The only game franchise I almost never had to cheat on was the Kirby franchise. There's almost no reason to cheat on Kirby games because it is a pink spud that can absorb an enemies power by eating them. That's good enough for me.
