Since it seems a lot of others are on the fence. I didn't pay $250 for mine, but if I had now that I have used it for a week I can say it is worth it even at full price. If you are on the fence about purchasing don't be cause its worth it even at full price. But, if you want to save a little money on a 16gb memory card Bestbuy has been selling them for a long time at $30, but they are out of stock. But if you go to Target they will price match it with Bestbuy. Just go in and get one and they will look it up on their iPad. They didnt even check if it was in stock or anything. I got too antsy to wait myself for another sale. So the memory card pushed me over. I got my vita with a game for $225, which I'm happy with and again would not be disappointed even if I had paid full.

Nice! I should go check it out then!
But it might vary since it differs, or if the $30 16GB cards still apply in my Best Buy...

Go to Target and grab one. They will use their iPad to go to bestbuy.com tell them to search for vita 16gb should come up at 29.99 and they will price match. That is how I did it. Of course you may be lucky and Bestbuy still may have instock in the store so I'd check there first online.

i really see no point of owning a PS Vita

I've had a PSP for years and it has more than enough quality games on it, though I haven't been playing it much.

Vita, so far, has no games on it that would make me want to buy a $250 upgrade on something i already have.

I would wait a little while longer. It's very likely for Sony to announce a Vita price drop next month at E3 (biggest gaming expo on earth.)
Anyway, I suggest buying one. It's a great platform, and the more people buy it, the more games it will get.

I worked as a gaming salesman for nearly 6 months before my aspie symptoms got me fired. While working there I saw a great opportunity when we got 4 bundles of 16GB cards with a download voucher for Modnation Racers : Roadtrip (I loved the game on PS3) for €54,90. The Vita itself was €199, so after all I paid just under 254 for the system, 16GB card and a game.

Also, get yourself PS+ and start "purchasing" some free vita games ready to download when you bought it.

Finally, if you're considering buying a PS4 at some point, it will have great connectivity with the Vita. You'll be able to run your games on your PS4 and stream them directly to the Vita, to continue playing there (like Wii U and its gamepad.) Great if you're sharing a tv.

If you like JRPG's, I suggest you look into Persona 4 golden.
