Well, one day I might get a PS4 to play the FFVII remake, but who knows?

FFXI is on PS2 and Xbox 360 but they are shutting them down in march/april I think. PC will only be available after that (while the user base covers the cost of running it that is and then I am sure that will go as well) Not sure how powerful the PC version needs probably not very since its an old game.

It's a shame you can't try out FFXIV it is very good :(


14 is on PC, Mac, Ps3, and Ps4.

I'm not saying to watch a full LP of it. That'd be silly. I cant imagine that anyone would even make one...

I mean just watch various videos of random bits that occur at different points throughout the game. There's plenty of Youtubers out there that do videos like that for MMOs in a general sense. They might show a raid in one video, and then in the next maybe they're with a couple of friends in some dungeon for 20 minutes, or whatever.

Y'know I thought that might happen. I was thinking of creating an attractive character that would lure in as many players as possible since grouping is mandatory for the most part. Any suggestions as to how can I make my character as attractive as possible? I'm between playing as a Mithra or a Tarutaru. I'm more inclined on playing as a Tarutaru since they are often considered to be cute and, of course, attractive.

But that's just me. :wink: Any advice on Final Fantasy XI's character creation?

I feel like anything you ask about the game is going to warrant anything but the answer you're looking for. XI's character customization is so obsolete that you could not make anything hundreds of players haven't already made before. It isn't unique. It's not like 14 or other MMO's that actually let you get involved with a process that yields a result unique to you. With only 8 faces different faces per race, 2 hair color styles, and a body size of small, medium, or large, the only thing different that'll be different than everyone else is your character name.

I'm gonna go ahead and say give up while you can. You should try it, but you'll be disappointed.

The Elders Scrolls 4: Oblivion has a better character customization feature than FFXI does, and that's putting things lightly.

@Scaevitas - Completly forgot about 14 been on the PS3 and I actually played the beta on it :oops:

Just try start putting a bit away if you can each month for black friday this year :) but as Scaevitas reminded me 14 is on the PS3 and it works well and you should be able to pick one up really cheap second hand these days.

As far as I know Asura is the most populated server on XI nowdays.

I tried XI again not too recently, and it was fun, but it was hard to get into since the community was so small. It's incredibly daunting. The game has a lot of content though, so if you enjoy a challenge and immense time sink then you might like it.

FFXIV is what I play now, though. I love it quite a bit as a FF fan and recommend it as well. I'm also on Behemoth if anyone needs someone with a similar mindset to talk to. My character's name is Lunami Lu! :) I'm a raider but I enjoy all aspects of the game, you won't get any elitism out of me. :D
