Freakiest video game villain

I know, he was so terrifying when I played the game for the first time. Even now, I have trouble looking at pictures of him when he's turned into that thing. And when he laughs as well...

I know all about that "fetus theory" for Gygas in Earthbound, but I don't think it's really true. Doesn't make fighting him any less nightmarish, though. Especially when the rest of the game was comical and lighthearted.

In Splatterhouse 3 for the Genesis the protagonist, Rick, had to save his wife when she started to get eaten from the inside by some worm monster. if you don't get to her within a time limit, it takes over her body. Not only was it gross, but the picture of her face when she starts turning into a monster was real nightmare fuel.

Of course, if the game is horror-themed it's to be expected. Nintendo seems to like putting random things in their so-called kiddie games just to freak us out, like that piano in Super Mario 64.

I saw this one for the first time myself recently.

Just.... WTF. I dont even.


There's also Ballos from Cave Story... for some people, you say, "they have a screw loose", but for him, he just plain lost all of his screws. Or ate them. Or made a hat out of them.

Let's see... there's also Cabadath, from Trilby's Notes and it's sequel.

He's believed to be one of the inspirations for Slender Man; the game he's in existed many years before Slender Man ever did though. He's... really screwed up. Having seen plenty of Slender Man, I can say... that guy aint as messed up as Cabadath.




And finally, Chzo, from the same series as him.

Chzo is the thing that's behind absolutely everything in that series of games, and is the master of Cabadath (and the story of how that came to be is pretty screwed up in and of itself). A "pain elemental" that became so stupidly powerful that it can exist in it's own sub-dimension, and is supposedly the size of a mountain. You never actually see Chzo fully. You get two views of it: 1, a view from inside of it, of a very freaky "room" where a certain character is trapped, and also 2, it's eye, which.... turns out to also be inside of it. Just going to take a wild guess and say that it probably has lots of other eyes.

The three characters in the front being some of the main characters in the series.


Loved that series of games... dont see horror games nearly that good very often at all.

Buzzo from LISA is pretty scary.
