There is already two threads dedicated to this issue.

One for all frequent reportings and issues with unhappy users and those offended.

One for a block function.

I don't know if I was reported, but I feel it may have offended a few people who are pro PS4.
The TP could have been seen as being biased....

But I fail to see what ws wrong with the title...

I know there is a running thread on site discussion about mods "cleaning up" the place to bring "peace" back to the site, due to constant amount of users taking offense to stuff.

Hmm, I see. That's not too surprising. Hopefully those threads will have some sort of effect, but I'm doubtful.

I would say, if this happens again, it might be worth contacting one of the mods, even if you're not sure which one did it, and just explaining the problem and the frustrations with it. It might get the matter actually looked at by others besides the mod that keeps giving in, which might help. I have an idea as to who to contact about this one (because that person is helpful with stuff like this), though hopefully it wont come to that.

I saw the post and such that you'd originally posted here. There wasnt anything actually wrong with it. And from what was explained to me by a mod that I recently talked to (after getting frustrated with that previous little situation, as I wasnt joking before about the reporting I intended to do at that time and did in fact do it, and I suspect this is why the reporter didnt threaten to report this thread before doing so this time) the mods are actually supposed to IGNORE frivolous reports of that type, as they are A: frequent and B: useless. Not instantly give into every damn report (and I kinda suspect the mod that's giving in is probably giving into ALL such reports). Unless your post is flaming or insulting a user, or things of that nature, stuff that BLATANTLY goes against the rules, the report is to be ignored. The particular mod I went to is one that knows what they're doing, which is why I chose them.

One way or another though, this idiocy has to stop. This site already has tons of problems as it is. It doesnt need this.

I explained to the last mod, who also regularly posts on this forum.

I posted my topic in the site discussion and awaiting my flogging for asking about it off of site discussion.

The official reason from the mod, who did the modding was this.

Quote:
3. Other inappropriate content and behavior prohibited on Wrong Planet:
This includes copyrighted material, serial codes, and posts made to promote a website, group or product, particularly if made repeatedly and without other participation in the WP community (spamming). This also includes discussion of locked topics, discussion of banned members and why they were banned and anything else that purposely causes conflict with other members.

It's official we are no longer allowed to post anything regarding gaming announcements, prices, price drops, sales etc... because it violates the promotion rule.

I also got a flogging which you can read too.

Ridiculous. People post stuff like that all the time, and the mods do nothing. Half of the damn gaming forum could be considered that, if they're being so bloody technical about it. If they REALLY want to run with that rule, I could point out thirty topics that, by that definition, should be fried. Just in THIS section. It's dumb, and I think they fully know this. Someone really is just giving into this crap when someone else reports it for nothing other than to be nasty and "teach someone a lesson". I'm sticking with my current theory of who that is. Considering that those topics are ignored, and that a couple of specific mods are here so frequently that they CANNOT miss this stuff, and considering that the issue that came up last time is ALSO being ignored (and for that one, they DONT have to look at any individual topic; one glance at the first page of this section is all they need), something's off. And I myself am left completely alone even after a certain someone's attempt to deal with me, which had no effect, though I might have a guess as to why that is. They'll stomp YOUR topics and such into the ground with no hesitation though. Chances are, some other members in other sections are regularly targeted as well. Which is wrong.

I had a look at that topic in the other section of the site... hmm. They mention going to Alex, do they? Possibly it might be time to make a direct complaint about one of the mods here.

I also notice that they locked that topic in there. I've a feeling I know why THAT is, too. Pathetic, that. It says to me "Yeah, I know what I'm doing isnt right. So I'll do THIS to stop anyone from doing anything about it".

If this idiocy keeps up, I'll deal with it on my own, one way or another. My patience for this place is really growing thin at this point. That there's no real alternative is bloody irritating.

It could be true...

Though Alex has repeatedly stated the report button is heavily underused and mods are being too easy on people.
Aspiecentral is a lot better, but if you post Nintendo stuff a few of Brits will derail it with talks of it being not adult oriented.

Hmm apparently I can't do long posts anymore because I'm blocked by WP according to cloudflare

Blocked how?

Cloudflare is a big damn pile of glitches, so it tends to pull crap like that at random.

If it's doing that THING that it does where the captcha keeps endlessly repeating, you can hit back on the browser a couple of times to get the filled out post back, and then submit again.

As always, I'll never understand why anyone would PAY for that service. And I use the word "service" with extreme sarcasm. Letting bots get onto the forum with great ease and stopping actual members from doing stuff seems to be it's entire function.

Now, if some idiot mod ACTUALLY blocked you from longer posts, then this has gone WAY too far and something needs to be done about it. LOTS of people, myself included, do long posts frequently on this forum. Many of us here like detail, after all.

No it was giving me a big red X for blocked stating that WP was flagging my posts for keywords...
It hasn't happened again in almost an hour.

"keywords"? Cloudflare and it's dimwit creators wouldnt know what keywords are if the keywords took physical form and did a song and dance in front of them. This sounds like EVEN MORE Derpflare bugginess. I cant imagine that any actual mod here would be bloody stupid enough to ACTUALLY set up keyword blocks here, because it'd start causing all sorts of trouble for all sorts of users. And alot of users are angry as hell over the bad functioning of the site as it is.

Really, every time I think this place has hit rock bottom, someone throws it a nuclear jackhammer, and down it goes....

It said it was on WP's end.

Remind me why I keep debating politics on this forum...?

(Not a mod) xenocity, I remember a user reporting to the mods that apparently your frequent posting, especially of updates regarding gaming, tend to 'monopolize' the forum as this sub-section is not as active as some other one's of the site so your updates and announcements dominate the thread.

Very silly, really.

Like Misery says, a huge part of the gaming community and culture is sharing updates and announcements and disussing it.

If anything, you help keep this sub-section alive. You, Misery and a few of the other frequent patrons.

Yes, and I have a feeling I know just who that user is. He tried something similar on me but I retaliated immediately (I'm not easily intimidated and have a tendency to go berserk when pushed too far), so nothing happened to me. Backed off when pushed back against like most bullies I've known. Many of the mods on here know me at this point anyway and I've always gotten along with them just fine; cant imagine what he thought they'd do.

And really, even with the "frequent posting of topics" bit.... there ARE other people on here that post topics just as often, or even more often, than Xenocity here does. That's been seen VERY recently, and also very often in the past, though there's no way in hell I'm going to actually name those specific members here as I do not want to see them harassed. Absolutely dont want that happening, and I dont want anyone feeling like they need to leave because of it. They dont get targeted though. Why might that be?

And honestly, I dont see the problem with topic frequency anyway. Things like industry news can be interesting to many of us. As can discussion of various game series, or even single characters, or whatever. And it often makes SENSE to split some things up. On every other forum I go to, doing so is absolutely fine AND expected, because when you clump things up it gets confusing and people will be less interested in reading it. On this forum specifically, users tend to be more easily confused for obvious reasons, so that seems even more important to me.

Just... bah. I apologize if I've been ranting at everyone too much here overall but the whole situation angers me. Granted, I'm usually not the most happy-go-lucky person to begin with, but it angers me more than usual.

We do have a far worse political board

Thanks for the support...

I'll just make this thread my complaining thread, since it was gutted.

Definitely Peach something or other (here name is long) is the biggest topic creator this week!

Don't forget to keep my main thread alive...
