I bought the original version at a thrift store. I am currently playing a free trial version. I am playing as an orc warrior.

I'm pretty active in roleplaying on Wyrmrest Accord, the West Coast RP server. I find it fun to develop a character, interact with other characters, play a part in the server's RPed conflicts. And in my experience, speaking as someone who actually finds PvP pretty fun, RP servers are also just full of less sh***y people than PvP ones. The playerbase is much less bro-y.

Also, Legion is far from perfect, but oh my god. It's leaps and bounds better than WoD. The game isn't a terrible mess anymore. Finally!

Don't believe the gender tag. I was born intersex and identify as queer, girl-leaning. So while I can sometimes present as an effeminate guy, that's less than half the time and if anything I'd prefer it say "female" of the two choices offered. I can't change it though, it's bugged.

I think (hope) I've finally kicked the WoW bucket. I've just become very disinterested in the game. From my perspective it isn't appealing as it once was.

Thanks to YouTube though, I will keep up with the lore and the cinematics, which are fantastic. But as for the game, that won't be happening now. Especially since I've unsubscribed, removed all my details, and terminated the email associated with it.

The following is a post from 2015 by a WoW player who has Aspergers (allegedly, never 100% trust everything on the internet!):

Quote:
Yup there ya go I said it. Im an aspie and proud of it. I wanted to say thanks to the devs and the community for providing me with entertainment and for making me feel like I belong wich is not something I often felt in RL. I feel most of the time like I'm on a different reality than the people around me especially due to my awkward behaviour and poor social skills.

This game gave me an escape from the noisy reality and helped alot during darker times.

This game gave me something to hold on to, a sense a accomplishment when I felt useless.

This game gave me something to look forward to when my schedule was completly empty.

I didnt really made much friend in this game but just to see people notice when I log on or when I post on the forums felt really good. It remembers me that I am not in a different reality and that I do breath the same air as everyone else.

So thanks to everyone for that.
Thanks for noticing me.

When I read it, I found it somewhat inspiring. For all Blizzard's faults, especially with WoW, they appear to have bought joy to one person's life. That's nice :)

damn it, now I miss WoW! was utterly obsessed with the game till my youngest was born. Warlords killed the game for me, those damn garrisons! I still talk to a few people I used to play with, it was a major support tool when I felt really alone. game has its faults but I think its helped a lot of really shy/introverted/socially impaired people over the years.

That it has. Mr Ian Bates, aka "Red Shirt Guy" would be one of those people.

WoD was a low point for the game, no doubt. I actually envisioned Grom Hellscream as a final boss, not Archimonde, whom it feels like they shoe-horned in at the last minute. Also no beautiful pre-corruption Karabor or the appearance of Farahlon.

As I've told Misery and the rest of the forum, the lore and cinematics of WoW are excellent. Legion's story is no different. I am sure they are leading up to something massive. Something worse than the Burning Legion.
