The controls work well with the DS, but the screen may get incredibly scratched if you play Hard or Expert, so I'd buy a screen protector first.

I've seen the way some people play it, instead of strumming, they just clack the stylus repeatedly over the screen :x I wanted to take the thing away from my brother for doing it :x :x

If you want to see scratched screens, get into the Ouendan series

The non-Japanese equivalent of Ouendan is Elite Beat Agents, but I think that's a bit cheesy. What is Ouendan like?

Ouendan is exactly the same as Elite Beat Agents, except the text and most of the songs are in Japanese. Gameplay-wise, it's the same exact thing (though the first Ouendan doesn't let you skip song intros and things like that, which gets annoying sometimes).

Also, the storyline is a bit different..."Ouendan" is Japanese for "cheersquad" (like cheerleaders), and apparently it's based on real groups who will cheer for people to help motivate them to do whatever it is they're having trouble with in life. After learning that, the Ouendan games seem a lot less silly and ridiculous, especially compared to the American counterpart where you use the power of dance to save people ;)

Anyway, is anyone considering getting the sequel to Guitar Hero On Tour? It's called Guitar Hero On Tour Decades.

Isn't criticising Elite Beat Agents for being cheesy like saying the environments in Silent Hill are too claustrophobic?

I've played guitar hero a couple of times. It was fun.

But it wouldn't be Guitar Hero if it's just a few buttons on a square block and not a guitar. :?
