Slaking is an interesting pokemon. Its ability makes it do nothing after every move, like the side-effect of Hyper Beam and Giga Impact. But this also happens to mean that Hyper Beam and Giga Impact don't take any more time than any other attack.
It learns many stalling moves like Swagger, Slack Off, and Yawn.
It can use powerful combinations like Swagger + Punishment, and Yawn + Focus Punch.

It's quite good in double battles, if you partner it with a pokemon that knows Gastro Acid or Skill Swap. They can remove its ability so it can attack every turn, and it does have very high stats except for the low Sp. stats.
Skill Swap can even give it a good ability, like Levitate or Shield Dust.
It can learn many different moves, including Fire-, Thunder-, Ice Punch, so it should be able to do some serious damage to most opponents.
It's just a very interesting pokemon. It even has a high speed stat, despite being so lazy.

Slaking is cool, I just don't have enough patience :P Though if I could teach Slaking a poison move, I wouldn't mind so much since damage would happen every turn.
Do you know where you can delete moves and learn old ones in Pearl?

It can learn Toxic through TM, and in Platinum and HG/SS it can learn Gunk Shot through tutor. Gunk Shot is a strong attack with 30 % chance to poison.

The deleter is in Canalave City, I think. The relearner is in Pastoria, in the house by the pond.

I have a Torterra now. :)

Linoone is probably my favoured utility pokemon. I intend to get one with Cut, Rock Smash, Strength and Whirlpool; one with Headbutt, Covet, Super Fang and Odor Sleuth. And the ability Pickup, of course.

I learned an odd quirk of Explosion today. Its description says that its power is 250, but the description doesn't mention that it has a special effect that doubles the damage it does. The effective power seems to be 500, despite what the description says.

Right now, I want to level up my Heatran so I can try out Magma Storm.

Thank you, I figured out where the deleter was but not the relearner :)
I'll definitely try Slaking in HG then :)
My pokemon are all over lv 40 now, I'm so pleased!
Linoone sounds pretty good.
I'll usually have one pokemon with two HMs and the rest have one.

Ah I beat it last wednesday. I created another account here (I quit with a bunch of my runescape friends) but got a bit bored of rs because of the internet at my university (technically, I go to TALH). So, has anyone caught all the legendaries yet? I still need all the event pokemon, regigas (just played through emerald again but haven't beat the elite four yet), kyogre, groundon, latios, and latias. I'm still disappointed about the event pokemon and I didn't get Jirachi... :'( I want to get the event pokemon through a trade, even if they're of foreign language, but I'm using my brother's DS until I buy my own and I don't want to register either my HeartGold or Pearl to the DS so I could trade with the GTS...

Hey, Voltorb Flip is like MS Mine Sweep, but easier! Piece of cake! :o Mmm, cake.

Heracross is too rare. :( I can't find any. I headbutted trees for hours. I know I'm at the right trees, because there be Aipom.

I think I'm going to evolve the Togepi with Hustle as soon as possible, so I can breed one with Serene Grace.

My Zubat defeated the Rival in Azalea yesterday evening. Lv 13; had no difficulty dealing with the Rival's Lv 16 Zubat, Gastly or Lv 18 Bayleef.
I was lucky, of course, but it felt pretty epic. I like my Zubat.

I traded an Abra for a Heracross in Pearl :P Since I have a lot of quick balls, it was easy.
Why does Hustle make it evolve quicker? My Togepi is lv 15 and still hasn't evolved yet, even though it doesn't die very often in battle.
I got HG two days ago, I'm not that far though.

Ah, so you did get it. Cool. :)
Nah, Hustle only makes me want to evolve it quicker. :P It needs to evolve so I can breed it and get a new one.

I am up to the steel badge now. I have been useing the same team through so so far, I have a Furret, Noctowl, Geodude, Flaffy, Butterfree and Quilava, and all are lvl 22. I try to battle with useing the pokemon that has the most experience to next level unless a ig disadvantage. I was challenging myself untill I was unable to beat Bugsy's Scyther, fearing the other two were tough, I trained my team up a few levels, only to find out the other two were Metapod and Kakuna, With Whitney I just used Geodude and healed with potions, and Morty was not too hard, mostly just swap if inflicted by Curse or confusion, in fact my Furret took out his Gengar with the use of Foresight and Strength.

One of the cool features is the pokethlon, which kind of feels like the games in Pokemon Stadium 1/2, and different pokemon can be good at deifferent stats, I managed to get a Kings Rock. And the game corner actually has some skill to it, kind of like Mindsweeper, it kind of uses statistics, and is something I enjoy doing rather then slot machines and I got a Silk Scarf. I bred for another Cynaquil, and useing it in the Pokewalker which I have got on a strap so I can get points by swinging it like a pedelum. Now I am hoping to get enough berries for the sick Miltank.

I bred a Totodile in anticipation of trading for a Cyndaquil, but I still need to register Cyndaquil in mah 'dex first.
Still can't catch a Heracross, the rare rascal, but I got myself a Ditto and a Togepi with Serene Grace.

Bugsy's Scyther was great, too bad his other pokemon were only U-Turn fodder.

My team is for the most part comprised of quick strikes with heavy artillery in the back. Mostly in the form of Charmeleon and Larvitar. Payback via Larvitar is beautiful :D My Giratina makes for a nice offense against normal types.

Yes, I cheat. So what? :P

My Cyndaquil and Arceus is in the PC.

Ralts though...Ralts is cute >.> Always have one for its sheer power.
