I must say that I got far too much enjoyment out of arranging epic demises for Caesar, not only was he a major a**hole in the game, but he's voiced by the actor that played one of my most hated characters on The Wire so getting a shot at him was doubly fun. I can't quite decide if reverse pickpocketing C-4 onto him or smuggling in Euclid's C-finder is more satisfying, though I don't think either method quite compared to kneecapping Cook-Cook before taking a chainsaw to him (can you tell I like to punish the wicked while video gaming?).

looks like your character became what he sought to destroy. imo Caesar not evil. and his vision is the most realistic of the 3 factions.

I just pretty much left Caesar alone until he put a hit out on me, at which point I just stormed into the fort and killed him and everybody else in there

The first time through I played it "good" and rolled with NCR but somehow when I was in the middle of one of the last missions (I think after I took out the Brotherhood of Steel) the NCR started shooting at me even though I had the highest possible rep with them. Maybe it was a glitch or something? Either way it was their loss cause I was then forced to kill all of them as well.

So I guess I ended it "independent"? I pretty much killed everyone in my way, although somehow my karma ended up "very good".

I just started on round 2 last night. For some reason I can't help but set up my characters relatively the same (Intelligence 7, Perception 7, Agility 6, everything else 5; emphasis on small guns, sneak, science, lockpick) but I felt like science and especially lockpick were far less useful in New Vegas than Fallout 3 so I think I'ma focus more on melee (I love beating things down with a golf club) and repair.

I played New Vegas for two weeks and then traded it in for Alan Wake. It's not a bad game, but it doesn't make any improvements over Fallout 3. New Vegas looks exactly like FO3 which looked like a PS2 game, and the storyline and characters are boring. It's hard to care about the characters when they're so one dimensional. I can't imagine anyone seriously caring about which side to take in the Legion vs NCR conflict. The game doesn't have the epic feel of Mass Effect or the tight dialogue of GTA.

The objectives at the beginning of NV aren't clear - where are you supposed to go? If you head straight to Vegas you'll run into these huge monsters who can absorb enormous amounts of punishment. If you make it past them you can't enter Vegas unless you have 2000 caps. The were also tons of technical glitches. They game would intermittently slow down and pause. You'll be walking around somewhere and the game will just stop. I couldn't even finish a mission because of a glitch that occurred when I tried to enter an enemy barracks.

i dont know if you missed something in the beginning of the story cause if you try to head to vegas from goodsprings you would be stopped at sloan by the miners saying that there are deathclaws all over the place. anyway i do believe that you are told by the doc to head to primm and get info on the package you had. thus taking you the long way around. and you dont need 2000 chips to get into vegas there are a couple ways to get in. 1 being do missions for the king and he will give you a pass to go in for free, 2 being steal a ncr uniform and take the monorail over also free. to date alot of the glitches have been fixed

Figuring out interesting way to get the guy was something I took some enjoyment in as well.
One of the player home mods I have has a teleporting function, but only to places I've been. So in one game I pretend be friends with Caesar until he gives me back my teleportation device for doing that one mission to destroy the factory under his camp. Just happen to set my teleporter up down there for future reference.
Come back later on once I'm ready to off Caesar, warping into his camp with my whole gang armed to teeth, completely getting around the gear confiscation. The Legion never stood a chance.

Surprisingly enough, killing Caesar has little effect on the game. (Except failing all Legion missions)

I should have bought the strategy guide. I might buy a used copy of the game later this year and play from the beginning. Another thing I couldn't figure out was why almost everyone in NV hated me. Characters I thought were neutral would open fire on me without provocation. I remember exiting the Helios One building and having to fight my way past a group of NCR troops standing guard outside. I didn't steal anything from the building, nor had I crossed any NCR troops. Even after I killed them and word got around, I was able to join the NCR on a raid of one of the Legion garrisons.

im hoping there is something like broken steel to extend the story cause really thru the story it doesnt seem like ceaser is the the real problem, to me it seems like its the legiate his second in command that is gonna be the one to watch for a real power grab in the future,

i said it once, ill say it again, caesar is not a bad guy, if you play the caesar quest line and really listen to what he has to say, you'll know that, he also knows his second in command is a poor choice for leader, in the long run, and wants YOU to replace him one day,

the ncr is a corrupt and is detrimental to the people that live under them, caesars goals are to take over the ncr and make him self dictator, and in the transition convert his war band of savages into civilize people, he knows what his army is, savages, he knows the only way to use them is to play into that. hes long term goals is to civilize them in civilized lands.

so in closing, the best option for the waste land is caesar, if you play the game and get into it youll here from every one that the ncr is f*****g people over taking there land away for the rich barons who pay them off. and the only way things will be set right is with dictatorship, caesar, and when he a old man dies, you will take his place.

The developers have already stated that there won't be anything like Broken Steel for New Vegas. Just side-quest expansions.

New Vegas is intentionally vague about who is right/wrong and good/bad. Each faction has it's positives and negatives. If you ask me though, the real villains of Fallout have always been Vault Tec.

i know people always forget that. alot of these vaults you go in have been the host of crazy experiments. the fev virus was one of those experiments

It's seems like half the problems in the wasteland are just from the crazy experiments they set-up in like 90% of their vaults. Too bad Vault-Tec doesn't actually exist as an organization anymore as it would be interesting to know who was behind Vault-Tec and all it's craziness.
