The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
FXAA = Fast-Approximate Anti Aliasing
Its best summed up as an inbetween form of Anti-aliasing. No where near the accuracy as regulara AA, BUT its much easier on the systems in question.
EDIT) This video explains it very well.

to be honest i don't see a difference whether it is off or on. but seeing the video, well if you have to be that close to notice then i can do without. most of the time in a game i don't look at the scenery at all, skyrim is no exception, i'm out there to quest, loot, and kill or be killed. but if it lets my game run faster then i might use it but it won't be for looks. just for fps.
is this fx thing suppose to turn black objects purple? because i have it on and my deadric armor was black, along with my character's hair, not a bright purple but kind of like a purple filter on the armor. i don't like it.
or is this another case of beth doesn't know what the color black looks like. the black hair color in fallout 3 is anything but black. they also seem to be off on green as well. and i don't know when platinum turned into yellow. platinum is silverish or at least the platinum i know.

thats purplish/black = post processing effect. It can actually sort of happen in real life depending on lighting conditions. Same goes for platinum hair, it all really depends on lighting.
As for if you want performance, just turn off AA and FXAA all together.

oh, weird because when i put some custom eyes in fallout 3 that were green and they showed up green, must have something to do with the textures or the color choices. i've never run across this effect before in any game i have played till now, i think i'll keep the fx thing on. the game looks good and runs good.
i just went through a dragon battle that would have brought my old graphics card to it's knees, the new kept running smoothly the whole time. i never would have expected changing on thing in a computer could make such a difference. now i can buy games for my pc without agonizing over whether my computer can run it anymore.
i also don't have to sacrifice graphics for stability as much.

I just got this game and currently I am in Riverwood, it's raining, the dogs barking, and the soundtrack is playing... They definitely put a lot of work in to make the soundtrack and background noises work so well. I could fall asleep listening to the noises and music in Riverwood and my heart pumps when dragons are attacking.

i think it was radeon 5670 but i don't remember, all i know is it runs my games better then my last one and it didn't cost and arm and a leg. which is all i wanted.
and i don't think i'll ever have to replace the power supply because when i read about power supplies blowing up it always has over-clock in the same sentence. mine runs at the standard default setting and i have no mind to over-clock it ever.
to Pondering
i don't pay attention to much to game music, but yeah there are alot of sound effects. alot of time during intense fights my bose woofer can make my desk vibrate from the base alone, i guess that's as close to force feedback as i'll get on the pc. i might also have to tame the base down a bit.
i like how you can be just walking around in a city and suddenly you hear the rush of wings, and a shadow cover the ground. it seems like at any second a number of things can happen.

Well, with power supplys, you can easily blow it or wear it out alot faster from normal use if you are putting too much of a drain on it. I don't overclock and it has happened to me, so yeah proof enough that your don't need to OC and it can cause problems, which is the whole reason I mentioned it before.

i think i found the basket case psycho in skyrim, some guy name cicero, my god his voice is so annoying.
i'm doing the brotherhood and thieves guild quests, they are fun. i get be sneaky and thief stuff.
i figure i'm just going to try out everything in my first game then try to play more towards my character's personality and class style.
they need spear weapons in this game though, maybe someone will make a mod someday.

i found out the basket case psycho was the adoring fan, i had no problem killing him.
i can see though why people who play oblivion kill him all the time, but obviously from his journals i can tell he went through some psychotic episode between journals 3 and 4.
i never met him in oblivion because i never finished the arena, but now i don't want to just hearing him talk for the few minutes i had to endure was bad enough.
i like farengar toward the end talking with odewing [the dragon you trap] asking him if he could experiment on him, i was thinking the whole time "you know that's a dragon right?" i was waiting for the dragon to try and bite him or something.

Yeah, I had that kind of dislike for Eola. Wanted to kill her the first time I met her and got the ghoul pride evangelism, went on a secondary quest for the chance to kill her, extorted all the draugers without her, and by the time she started asking me to bring home a turkey to meet her family over dinner
