I am waiting for Mafia III to come out, the last game I completed was Deus Ex: Mankind Divided but the story didn't engage me as much as Deus Ex: The Conspiracy.

Microsoft Flight Simulator X - Oculus Rift - Like nothing better than flying a small plane over the Canadian mountains when it's snowing. Completely immersed :)

There's more, but those are the main ones

What is the best experience you have had with the Oculus Rift so far? I am thinking of buying one and I just want to know what the best games are. I already own DiRT Rally and Elite Dangerous, is project cars worth it? It is on sale with the humble store summer sale at the moment.

I've had a DK2 for maybe a couple of years and used it right up to the release of the CV1. I wouldn't say I got bored with it. I used it regularly for different games and apps. Elite Dangerous is amazing on it. The immersion is fantastic, especially when you're approaching/docking at a space station and going into hyperspace. I can't imagine playing ED without it now tbh. Project Cars is really cool. There are also a number of adventure games such as Edge of Nowhere or RPGs like Chronos. There is also Alien Isolation which I couldn't finish as I couldn't handle the stress. There are also a number of cool apps that are available for it. For watching movies, you can use MaxVR which places you in a cinema with a large screen in front of you and you can load movies onto it. I use this frequently. To be honest, it kind of killed the real cinema for me as I think 'why go to a real cinema when I can have one of my own?'..:)

Would I recommend it? Yes and No. It depends. If you have a reasonable amount if disposable income then yes, I would buy one. But you also need a VERY powerful PC to get the best out of it so the cost of getting into VR is definitely high. Think it cost me around £2500 to buy the CV1 and build a decent PC.

I'm not even going to get into porn...:)

I bought a CV1, I already exceeded the minimum requirements and the Oculus Rift didn't cost much more than my G-Sync monitor. I think the Oculus Rift is great value considering that curved 4K or 1440p IPS monitors can cost up to a £1000 in many cases. The Oculus Rift is very light and comfortable, that was one of the major strong points over the HTC Vive for me.

I haven't played many of the titles from the Oculus Rift store but I have tested out games I have purchased from steam. So far, DiRT Rally and Euro Truck Simulator 2 have been great experiences. Elite: Dangerous can be intense and as a newcomer to the game, there is definitely a learning curve to Elite: Dangerous. I am playing through The Vanishing of Ethan Carter in VR and the experience is definitely much more atmospheric with the Oculus Rift, I will purchase Chronos next.

I didn't know Microsoft Simulator X was compatible with Oculus Rift but I will definitely buy it, do you use a HOTAS for flying simulators? Do you own a wheel for racing simulators?

I watched Warcraft 3D and it was a great experience, it was better than the cinema. I have found that Cmoar cinema app works well with x2 supersampling, the environments in the app are great. It isn't perfect and there are godrays but I think the immersion of viewing a cinema screen is worth the money of a headset alone.

Sorry. Just seen this. You need to buy fly inside fsx. This is a third party add on for fsx that gives it rift support. I have a thrust master steering wheel and pedals and also a HOTASS for fsx, eve valkyrie and elite dangerous...

Playing Chronos atm.

Finished The Silver Case remake...well, the main part at least. Started on Placebo which really seems like side content but still worth going through. I would want to get back to RSP but I think I'd rather replay Flower Sun & Rain while this game is still fresh in my mind and compare the stories and characters.

Though I have taken some time to try out this Death Road to Canada. Reminds me of Oregon Trail with how randomly generous or cruel it can be. Pretty silly and fun.

Also have been using gameshark codes on some old Gameboy games. Used to do it with Pokemon games, now just fooling around with Oracle of Ages seeing what stuff I can break walking through walls. Very similar to a glitch in A Link to the Past. Been a while since I've had fun messing with games that don't already tend to be super buggy.

well i am not playing this "right now", but i did record one clip of a game called "L.A noire"

it is a game that was released under the banner of "rockstar games", but it was entirely programmed in "Bondi" in australia.
they mapped the los angeles district in the 1940's and the scenery is correct.
the rendering is very good.
the most incredible thing about this game however is the lip movement accuracy when characters are speaking.
there has been no game since that can equal this one in terms of lips and mouth movements when characters are speaking.
the company in Bondi who made this game went bust and they did not release the strategy they employed to get such faithful speaking mouth animations.

so anyway here is a clip from the game. sorry i had had 3 or 4 glasses of wine before recording it, so my narration is quite irritating.

obviously it is too long too watch in it's entirity, but just note the mouth movements of the characters while watching the first few minutes.

Yep, still playing MarvelHeroes2016 most likely I might be the only playing this game that time of this writing here in this forum or maybe on wrongplanet overall. Regardless I'm okay with that for, I find a great amount of fun with it.
