Most gamers I know buy only shooters, and only shooters. I wasn't into them for a long time, I guess I didn't have any because since I don't play video games that much I would play a shooter game and give up due to lack of patience because again, I'm not a video game freak.
But really, video games are the same as everything else, there's a trend going on and if you play something other than shooters, then you're a nerd.

I love the GTA games, but as someone earlier said, they're technically not a shooter because there is so much more to it.

Rented Halo 2 after it came out and I couldn't get past the first level. Bought the first Halo just over a year ago cuz it was a cheap method for me to get the feel of it, and I made it to the second level.

A few weeks ago I bought Call of Duty 2: Modern Warfare. It is amazing. I've given my chance to really give it a go, and it's addicting. Hell, I'm playing on Xbox Live mostly and having hours of fun with it. Probably my new favorite game.

I love WP's color scheme. Green is awesome when you're blue!

I personally can't stand any and all sports games. They're practically all copies of one another with different stats for a different year. Yet OMG MADDEN '10 IS OUT, IT'S GOING TO BE AWESOME. Really, it's almost exactly the same damn game it has been since Madden 97.

I like some, but not all shooters. I love L4D 1 and 2. I hate all of the Call of Duties and Medal of honor's. I am meh about Halo. I am absolutely in love with Mass Effect 1 and 2 (course they're also RPG's).

Another game I felt pressured to like to the point where I ended up hating it was Ocarina of Time. Yes, I do realize that it was the stepping stone for the 3D adventure genre, but to me it matters most which does it best and not which does it first. Personally, I think that every other 3D Zelda game, Shadow of the Colossus, Okami, and even Kingdom Hearts had better graphics, better controls, more in depth plots, and were WAY more fun than OoT ever was. It's a game with a fanbase that's so far up it's own ass, that any word against it guarantees instant flaming, and the gaming elitists that worship this game are among the many, many reasons why I think the gaming fandom is one of the worst out there.

Don't get me wrong. If you love this game, that's perfectly fine. I just have a major problem with fanboys and elitists who hate it when other gamers express that they dislike it.
