I never really cared for blue counter spells . . . liked it for draw cards, flying, etc. For me, it was one of those colors that, even though it is my "favorite color," i couldnt really use it's spells worth a damn. That and white (white is too defensive for my tastes). Green, Red, and Black have been more up my alley (A B/R Dragon Reanimator was my first claim to fame during an FNM) . . . course i created it by taking a R/G Dragon Deck and mixing it with a Bla/W Reanimator. Bladewing, the Risen was the main star, along with Buried Alive, then the subsequent Exhume, or Reanimate. Turn 3: 16+ damage
. Oddly, my first opponent was an Asian dude with a Green Elephant deck. I may not be good with facial expressions, but a dropping jaw is fairly easy to recognize and understand.
Play sequence:
Turn 1: Swamp, Putrid Imp
Turn 2: Swamp, Cabal Ritual (Dark Ritual when it was legalized), Buried Alive > Bladewing, the Risen; Kilnmouth Dragon (or Dragon Tyrant, depending on scenario), and Anger to the graveyard.
Turn 3: Mountain, Exhume (or Reanimate) > Bladewing comes into play, followed by Kilnmouth/Tyrant (due to BW's ability), then attack with BW and K/T (while Anger is in the gy, and a mountain is in play, all creatures i control have haste).
Look up Kilnmouth Dragon or Dragon Tyrant if you wish to understand my deviltry
