I'm really interested in the Pokewalker accessory, to me it seems like a great way to interact with my Pokemon. For those who don't know, the Pokewalker is a toy similar to the Tamagotchi toys way back when. You can download a Pokemon from your game to your Pokewalker using the infrared transfer system. Also, as the name implies, the Pokewalker has a built-in pedometer, which allows you to accumulate experience for your Pokemon as you walk. This works well for me because I have to walk everywhere in Laramie, so if I keep one of my weaker Pokemon with me in the Pokewalker, I can level it up pretty quick.

Only one level per walk, but it gains that level very quickly.

How can you tell if it gains a level? Or does it gain the level from just being there, even if it was just for a second?

Hell if I know. I think it gains XP proportional to the number of steps you walk while that Pokemon is in the Pokewalker, but I'll have to confirm that. I'll ask my girlfriend tonight at anime club.

One step=One experience point. A pokemon can only gain one level per walk, so if it need 5k xp to level up and you ran three miles (approx. 6k steps) it would go up a level, but the extra 1k xp would disappear.

I have never played the original Gold/Silver so I am keen to save up for it. The pokewalker looks preety neat too. But $90.00?!? That is why I have to save for it.

You are Australian right, if so K-mart has a special deal on it for about $50.

I am actually in NZ but I was born in Australia.

One walk being defined as one stay inside the walker. Taking the pokemon out and then putting it back in starts a new walk.

I can say that it can only go up one level a walk, I have been taking out a Cyndaquil each time, and it only gains one level a time.

I have been a bit confused over the order of Gym leaders, I beat Pryce, then moved on to Olivine, and had to go to Cianwood and found out I actually jumped two leaders in fighting Pryce. Well it might explain why had so much trouble against his Dewgong, it kept doing rest, and I had to keep getting my Flaffy to use Charge then shock aswell as multiple potions.

I also did the Bug catching contest today :) , I got a level 18 Kakuna, though I was kind of tossing up to have it or a lvl 14 Beedrill, still came second to some Pincer though, but atleast I got most of the bug pokemon into my pokedex as caught.
