If it supports it there should be a large plug on the back that says "Digital AV out" next to "Analog AV out" which is still used for audio. That was crazy how later Gamecube models had the component video plug removed. :?

Yeah. I can think of a bunch of other instances of console companies removing/downgrading stuff in later console releases. I'm not sure why they do it, though.

To save cost.

But why in later releases? Why even include it to begin with?

Might be a loss of demand for that particular feature.

Nah, I don't know if there's a way to make it only work on the Wii and not the GameCube...and if it were a regular old Classic Controller, you can't use those to play Cube games. But I found some other listings for them, and they do have Cube plugs at the end.

Anyway, I found two reviews. One guy says it's not very good, and another guy says they're decent enough:

It seems the first guy never got around to writing a proper review, but like you say his initial impressions aren't good. Maybe there's another third-party GameCube controller that's good for GBA games?

I just spotted this on eBay UK today: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OFFICIAL-HORI-PAD ... 0711915879

The seller certainly seems to be doing his best to get it to sell for a ridiculous price (BTW, DID I MENTION ONE OF THESE SOLD LAST WEEK FOR £1,000,000???? *HINT* *HINT*), I'll put it on my watch list out of curiosity anyway.

There's been heavy snow here for the past couple of days so not only did I not get to go to a used game store yesterday that I had been planning to visit for a while, there has also been no mail. Highly disappointing.

I bought 8 new games:

"Crash and Spyro Super Pack Volume 1: Crash N-Tranced/Spyro: Season of Ice" £1.59
"Final Fight One" £3.49
"Justice League Heroes: The Flash" £3.99
"Advance Heroes Guardian" £2.99
"Godzilla: Domination" £0.01
"F-Zero: GP Legend" £1.66
"Counter Punch" £2.88
"Mario Golf: Advance Tour" £2.80

There are some others I wanted to buy but I'm awaiting replies regarding whether or not they're genuine.

The Hori Digital Controller auction finished at £38.50; unfortunately I didn't win. :(

Mario Golf is a great game, and I've played the ROMs for F-Zero (hard) and Godzilla (easy but kinda weird). The rest I can't really tell you about.

Like I said, there's adapters you can get for around $20 that let you plug all sorts of different controllers into the GameCube port...NES, SNES, N64, Classic Controller...I can't remember what else.

A SNES pad would be perfect for playing GBA games. I can only seem to find adapters for PlayStation controllers, though.

Personally I'd lean towards using an NES controller for the GBA and a PS2 controller for the GC.

That would be my second choice but I prefer the shape and texture of the SNES controllers. :)

I could see it, but I get confused when there are extra buttons. When I play my GBA games on my DS, sometimes I'll find myself hitting the X or Y button and being confused when nothing happens.

Oh, OK. I've just had a thought, though. There aren't enough buttons to play GBA games on a NES controller!

Crud you're right. I'd figure my next best bet would've been a 64 controller. As long as you remember that the C buttons don't do anything, and neither does the analog stick, you should be fine. But there's no select button on the 64. The SNES appears to be the only logical non-GC controller. You win.

I've played through quite a few Gameboy games with the Gamecube Wavebird wireless controller, and it's always worked good. The Gamecube controllers d-pad is very close to the size of the GBA's d-pad.
