I have and playing the game now, it is pretty good, my only complain is that the graphics look a bit funny, probably because I have a pretty bad tv, might look nice on a hd tv though. I am not sure but so far I have only been able to carry two weapons at once, with the alien gun losing to the pistol and shotgun, and you kind of have a rechargable shield called ego, you max ego can actually increase by doing things like scoring a hoop, hitting a punching bag, or winng at pinball or the slots.

I actually found out it was released yesterday here (the 9th of July, we Ausies really got it early.

It's country of origin doesn't even get it until the 14th! That's ridiculous. :P Although already it's been cracked and released.

Been playing it since I got it in the mail. The last time I had this much pure fun with a game was Serious Sam, the one-liners are awesome and it's just great to play.

I bought it today, and it is awesome. I couldn't stop laughing when the very first achievement I earned was Turd Burglar (Find and steal a piece of poo). And yes the story is indeed that the aliens stole Duke's chicks and he has to get them back.

Not such a bad thing though, when the game itself so funny. I just have to complain about the graphics; they are quite choppy and buggy, if that is an appropriate way to explain graphics.

I think the major problem (apart from a few places with a serious framerate dip) is inconsistency. Some things look really damned good, others... not so good. Overall though, I can't really complain.

Played just about the entire day (started about 9 hours ago, with about an hour of that spent on eating and smoke breaks), and it still feels like there's ways to go. Too many shooters are short these days, borrowed the second Kane and Lynch game from an old work buddy. Took me about 4 hours to beat it, and they still had the guts to charge 600sek for it at release, paid 500sek for DNF and I guess I've got at least 4-5 hours of time left in the campaign.

-E- My biggest peeve with the game is probably the time it takes to re-load a map when you've died, you'd think they've made sure that the engine was fast with that, using already loaded resources and whatnot (I've played at least one game where loading was instantaneous if it was on the same map, can't remember which though).

I bought the game on Steam today but it isn't out until next week. Too bad they didn't release it in the US at the same time as the rest of the world.

Well I beat it, and it is not even out in America yet, it was quite a good game, I got a little woried at the very end, but the Duke saved saved it. Some might say that the inclusion of a recharging shield, and only two guns, 4 tripwires and 4 pipebombs as being a bit different, but I think it does a good point of keeping it fast. You are not really tp afraod of jumping out and gunning the bad guys since you can recharge, the ammount of ammo means you can not waste too much, though most big fights give you crates to recharge any gun, so can effectivly have infinite rockets at theses bits.

Humour is great, there is usually something to get a alugh out of, oh and the loading screen tip, though repetiive after a while, are usefull, like saying if you are stuck you can just check an FAQ online, or "You can grab rats". There is some funny references in there, like the first time you have to get through a door it says you need a red keycard. There were some parts that could get tough, Octabrain especially can be a big pain, their long range move is powerfull, and can throw rockets back. Octababies are also a pain since they are small and swarm you.

I'm not happy with these average - negative reviews. In my opinion it is much better than what these people say!

Yeah I found the negative reviews a bit of a surprise.

I found them surprising too, but only because I'd thought that after 12 years, and how excited that one guy in those videos was about making the game, that it would be a good game, and it's quite crappy. :?

I don't really read reviews anymore, so I've only seen one for the game (it was linked to me), and all of the reasons that the guy said it was a terrible game were serious perks in my eyes.

It sucks because it plays like a game from 1998!? I'm looking at the garbage they spew out today and wondering how in the world anyone could consider this to be a bad thing.

Unfortunately after playing the demo, I have to agree with his "terrible lag" assessment =/ I wasn't worried at first, because he had played it on a console, but even my PC couldn't run it very well (which is a first for me, other Unreal 3 engine games have run just fine).

Hopefully they'll get those kinks patched out by the time I get around to buying the full version ¬_¬

I disagree. My game tasted fine, and smelled of new car smell and rainbows.
