To OP: Absolutey! I love Skyrim so far. Oblivion was also a great game. After I played Oblivion, I wanted to try out Morrowind but couldn't get into it. The graphics were just too old.

In Skyrim, I have completed a number of main storyline quests, as well as a few side quests. The last quest I completed was a sidequest in Windhelm where I had to travel to Riften to kill this mean old lady who runs the Orphanage there. The main storyline quest I am on currently is Alduin's Wall.

Great game!

I played the same mission after you kill her you will get kidnapped when you fall asleep and then you will be asked to join the dark brotherhood. I join them of course you get to meet a lot of strange characters I am doing a misson for the dark brotherhood I am going to kill a king for them.

It took me a while to get used to the controls, but I love it. I had to start a new one (which really bothers me) because I got a bug that wouldn't allow me to have followers and one of my housecarls had an item I needed... I get a lot of glitches when I play, but I mostly get the fun ones. Like the time I picked up the staff from a dragon priest off the ground and then was able to loot a second one off the body, or the time I was walking through the wilderness north of Dawnstar and came across a random dragon soul. Note that I didn't encounter a dragon, just randomly absorbed a soul. My husband hates that I manage to find all the "good" glitches

It's a very good game. Combat is nothing special, but the game excels in the sheer freedom it gives you. I haven't run into any glitches in over 20 hours of playing. Not in my top 5 favorite games, but probably my top 20 or so.

I absolutely love it, but I've pretty much done everything that I can think of in it. I need to find two more masks and after that, I don't know what else to do. I'm ready for some DLC.

I think the game is great, overall best or tied with Morrowind for best of the series. No other single player has kept me so interested for as long as the Elder Scrolls Series. First it was Morrowind, I still have very fond memories of walking near the first city you arrive in the game, and all of the sudden some mage falls out from the sky screaming his lungs off, to meet his death falling on the dirt pathway, right in front of me and a mudcrab. Turns out he used a potion that made him jump super high and be able to travel very far in a short amount of time, but something obviously went wrong and he wasn't able to land safely. So random! So I stole his stuff and went on with my day. I kinda miss that in Skyrim, oblivion too. That random kind of humor is a big refreshment after awhile.

It does have some nasty glitches that require a power on/off. Loved the game but got bored with it after i got 100 level on enchanting and smithing as well as armor and weapons. Even set on master my weapons and armor were so strong it was just not a challenge any more..

I actually had a lot of fun with Skyrim - 300 hours worth (so I'm both gauche for liking it and gauche squared for liking it 'that' much).

Nah, my excuse is experimenting with different kinds of characters.

I tend to agree with the people here who said that once you get yourself to the 60's level-wise it tapers off; especially once Alduin's dealt with. The civil war quests and joining Stormcloaks or Empire really wasn't that great - thieves guild and dark brotherhood were fun, companions was just alright.

The characters I ran though though:
Started with a dual wield Orc, light armor, practical magic (ie. conjuration - weapons/binding), and once I got him into the other stuff I found that the stealth was a lot more fun. Beat the game with him but got bored.

Started another character - female wood elf. Different approach to weapons; still light armor, one-handed weaponry though and got her good with dual wield, all of which dovetailed right in to some great backstab damage once I got my daggers. With my first two characters though I maxed out smithing, maxed out enchanting (max out the armor/weapon perks) but I went the extra mile with the second character and got her alchemy up to specs to then cheat the enchanting to then cheat the smithing. I also even made her some special rings and necklaces that I'd keep in her pocket and rotate based on the enemies I was fighting (I got the dragon upgrade so - it was quite helpful there). I pushed her on archery, which I didn't do whith my orc character. She pretty much became invincible as the character before though and after I'd pretty much done everyting - I got bored.

Third character - decided to make a dunmer mage and - I forced myself not to let her use any weapons at all and no armor; *full* mage, which I hated the idea of but I wanted to see if there was a way that I could make it work well. So far she's okay, I've gotten her at least to where I can get on with the game albeit either of my previous characters would roll her down in an instant and what she generally has to do is hit...run for a while..hit....run for a while....stealth has been good for at least being able to evade bosses providing I give them the cool down period but - it gets tedious. I haven't gotten her to where I can enchant the heck out of her gear but I don't know if I'll get there really, I think my steam (hahh......ahhhhh......ahhhh) ran out in early March to play that much.

I think they had a pretty addictive environment though - they got that right. I liked that you could take your time, do things as you wanted, the only problem - they hit a processing ceiling and I think that's where some of the cheese came in like being able to swim naked in the arctic with no damage, jump into raging rivers and just swim, and people's horrible canned reactions to things (like crouching with a dagger behind someone and a guard chatting you up about his arrow in the knee or telling you to stay safe). Marriages were worse than bad - the characters you married had significantly more personality when you weren't married to them, and the one thing that just ended up being a pet peeve of mine - vampirism was utter junk and with no quest line or vampire guild.

Loved the easter eggs in the game though. They did a great job of planting little secrets and things that if you found an odd detail it leads you to an entire cave of brigands or something else that you never would have found otherwise. I also liked the ability for the users to make their own mods - albeit they seem more ambient and small scale, ie. somewhat shallow; can be done artfully and can get interesting results, but usually come with a healthy dose of glitches and strange colors on snow and barrels at the right times of day.

I'd personally like to see more games in the same vein, just that - I'd like to see them built with more processing in mind at a later time where they can really make things pop.

I think a lot of people were irritated about the skill tree - fair, things that got dumbed down should be reversed. Also - dammit! What do I do if I want to build my own house? Open a bar in town? Build a mall? Heh, I know its gluttony but if I want to be a commercial builder in Whiterun or put Craigslane Cavern out of business with skooma five times as pure as theirs (that you can dose and get a heck of a show) common!
