70 pally and 46 mage. I quited for a while and decided to come back, I usually get only a couple hours a day (between 2-3) which is much better than how long I used to play.

I played for a month or maybe a little longer. Level 31 or so, Nightelf Hunter. But I got bored of it. Too limiting. I wanted a pet, so had to be hunter. You can only do two professions. You can only be in one clan. The bank space is pretty small (especially since just about every item in the game is limited to specific character class/level/etc.). Then I found out you can't do all the quests. Even disregarding race/alliance/profession specific quests, you can still only do a tiny fraction of them on any given character. So they're just a novel way to grind. I played RuneScape for around a year, and before their recent changes, I honestly think they had a better game, at least for my play-style.

I long for a game that actually lets players play how they want to play. A perfect game would have no limitations on skills (aka professions). If you want to spread yourself thin, so be it - if you want to concentrate on a few, so be it. It should have a skill leveling system based on experience (WoW and RuneScape do this - EvE is an example of one that doesn't). It should have a good player driven economy (RuneScape no longer does; WoW is basically restricted to Auction House). It should allow a mix of PvP and PvE in the same world (RuneScape used to have this). It should allow completion (at least in theory) of all (well...most) story-lines with any given character (RuneScape has this). All creature kills/skill activities should give experience, irregardless of character level (RuneScape has this). It should allow players to change the world around them (i.e. player owned houses, shops, ships, etc.; clan owned same; etc.) (neither WoW nor Runescape do a good job of this). For example, if the Horde/Alliance war in WoW actually mattered... If the Horde invades a town, after killing an NPC, the NPC should respawn as Horde. (Imagine starting a quest only to find you can't complete it because the NPC kills you!) Obviously there should be minimal instancing (both WoW and RuneScape do - GuildWars is an example of crap). It should also have true quests (both WoW and Runescape do - GuildWars aren't all that good).

My friends play WoW and they want me to start playing too, i think its too late to start because everyone would be too powerful and it takes ages grinding the instances to get the Loot.

I play Guild Wars, my avatar is my character. I think the skill system is way better than WoW and the pvp is awesome too. I love sitting in the town creating new builds with over 200 skills to choose from.

I might choose Warhammer as my first P2P game.

I played guild wars from when it came out until taking up wow a few months back. Wow >> guild wars. Without question. Playing guild wars really makes me appreciate wow.

When the new expansion is released and the level cap goes up to 80, all the gear other people have got will become obsolete. Now would be a good time to start playing.

Lienda.. he doesn't mean OP as in original poster. He means Over Powered. A lot of wow players believe that warlocks are currently "over powered". (No comments on my feelings.) This poster is reassuring us that he choose a warlock before they got a reputation for being over powered, in an attempt to establish his cred with us WPers and in order to preemptively deflect any criticisms like "You only made a warlock because it's overpowered!".

I'm not sure why.. who wouldn't want to be a powerful character? ;)
I agree with you, I mean, I don't usually care what people think about me in real life, much less in WoW, so I personally would rather have an unfairly powerful character, after all, than have an acceptable character.

My main is a lvl 31 Human Warrior on Bladefist region. Thought that I should have made a horde warrior instead, cause they have better racial abilities. My highest alt is a lvl 11 undead rogue on Duskwood server. Look me up sometime. Should I start over and get a new main because the horde is so much better?

If you want Horde, come to Aeywynn. I'll get you into a good guild with a bunch of level 70s. It's a PvP server, but I think it's fun and most of the time it isn't a major deal. Our Guild can help you out if it gets bad.

68 NE druid. I can't seem to force myself to log in and get those last two levels. I want to, but I hate to solo and I don't do well with pick up groups. My guild has gone off to do their own thing to better their "end game progression" and left me behind. Its become too hard to keep in contact now that they've passed me. I bring nothing new to their table, so I'm not worth listening to. I don't even get a "LOL" in gchat anymore or a hello when I log in. Its depressing I guess.

So I either play baby alts, or I just stare at my email inbox instead.

My favorite thing to do in wow has always been to patrol and kill gankers in the hillsbrad area. Made lots of friends despite my usual anti social tendancies. Use your Single mindedness for something that benefits others, i.e. chasing down lamers. Do that for a while, you'll start meeting the decent ones. Level 69 tauren druid atm btw. Druids rock.

Btw, sporeggar euro RP-PVP realm for me atm, going by the name Karuna if anyone wants to contact me ingame. May have mentioned it b4 but feck it.

go to hinterlands then, samish level. The xp needed to get from 20-60 has been reduced, therefore u dont need to visit every zone anymore.
