I'm sorry, but that's complete and utter bull-sh**. The skill (and patience) and knowhow to get all 7 emeralds in Sonic 2 on the first level far outstrips what it takes to beat the rest of the game
Maybe you found them difficult, but they never gave me much trouble.
Once I memorized where the rings & bombs were, the special stages were a cakewalk. I can still remember beating those levels with ease when I was a kid, and I can still do it today thanks to emulation.

Sonic Adventure was awesome, Sonic Adventure 2 was alright, and every other Sonic Game afterwards has been seriously gimped by idiotic design choices. If they could stick to just Sonic levels (I haven't played the Wii ones) then they'd be good. Except the first X-box one. That'd still suck.
I absolutely loved both Sonic Adventure games.
And contrary to popular opinion - Sonic Secret Rings, Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Rush, and Sonic Chronicles were all very good as well. Heroes and Shadow, however, were mediocre at best.

Whatever. Sega half died with the Dreamcast and was finished off entirely when Smilebit went away
Not really.
Jet Set Radio Future, Space Channel 5: Part 2, Crazy Taxi 3, Shenmue 2, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Virtua Fighter 4, & Virtua Fighter 5 were awesome - and they all came out long after the Dreamcast died.
I have yet to play Nights: Journey of Dreams, but I hear that both it and Valkyria Chronicles are supposed to be pretty good, too.
