Ciconia When They Cry came out! It's the 17th main entry in a series of doujin visual novels that started being produced in 2002, and this is the first of the third major arc within it. The prior two were Higurashi and Umineko. From what I've read so far it's a speculative post WWIII science fiction setting in which all the nations have engaged in mutual disarmament. Peace is maintained across the world by a global treaty to maintain no more than a certain level of military power, through powerful social media that has removed all barriers to communication globally, and through complete control of information and records of world history. In some ways it's a utopia and in others it's a dystopia, as there's no war, but the world population is completely controlled through the information it's allowed to receive.

It's pretty different thematically from prior entries and it looks like a lot of current issues such as will be major themes. So far there's been references to the polarisation of politics, the impact of social media, public perception of military intervention, and manipulation of the population through misinformation and censorship. I've been looking forward to it and will be playing it exclusively until I've finished it.

I found this The A small fee gets you a pretty, interesting puzzle game that was good enough to make me pay money for all three sequels.

Finally managed to finish Red Dead Redemption 2, its main story as well as its epilogues, after deciding that I could not leave it unfinished in a safe spot of doing random things. Doing all the (non collector) side missions, and then going through an emotional rollercoaster. At least managing to divert some attention to also get all the herbalist challenges.

Feel like I can finally focus on my other games. And also picked up Dragon Quest XI on Switch, so my list is getting larger by games that seem so large and might never be able to finish these long games. Wondering if I should start DQXI, or try and put a dent into Borderlands 3. Or any of the other games I have yet to do much on.

Call Of Duty

The original version on a dvd. Have owned this for years, but it wouldn't run on any of my PCs. Finally got it working on a T60 Thinkpad after installing a driver for the ATI Radeon x1400 graphics chip.

First impressions after playing the first two levels are that it's great fun, but doesn't have as much subtlety and depth as something like Medal Of Honor Allied Assault, which is the obvious game with which to compare it. So far I've been able to get along by running amok with the MP40 submachine gun 90% of the time, with an occasional use of sniper rifles.

No doubt it will get more challenging though, and will require the use of more demanding strategies...

Skyrim with some mods.

Skyrim with mods is what I will have to settle for while waiting for that elder scrolls 6 which I am impatiently waiting for even though it could be a year or two.

I pretty much alternate between Gears 5, The Outer Worlds and some ranked matches of Dead or Alive 6.

the Outer Worlds. Such a delicious RPG-fix. I hope you're taking notes, Bethesda!
