I too wonder what the new beginners will be if they hybrid after evolution.

To me the outline of the supposed water type looks mammalian.

I'm crossing my fingers for a Water/Ghost maybe play on haunted fog or something.

Looks like I was right about the starting water type looking mammalian.

It is based on an otter

All of them are cute to me!

I wonder is that shell an actual shell or just a design on it's belly?

Really? I only like the Grass type, which is still too similar to Treecko. :? Oh, well, the rest should be better.

I can't see the picture, but I found some elsewhere, the grass looks quite cool.

At least it looks slightly more unique than Bulbasaur-Turtwig

I think the new fire type looks like turtwig.

Plus I think the starting fire types are following the Chinese Zodiac. Charmander dragon, Cyndaquil mouse/rat, Torchic chicken, Chimchar monkey
now this new one pig

I don't like the new starters, but the players look older at least.

Yeah, the ears look like the leaves. I don't think that the zodiac will ever be filled out, though, as there is already a Fire horse, for example. :P

I'm raising a Togekiss with Air Slash, Aura Sphere and Water Pulse. I'm not sure what else to add. :? Shadow Ball would be supereffective against two more types, and maybe more importantly give me a chance to lower tough sp. defences. Shock Wave is useful because Flying and Water are extremely common types, but it's a bit weak, and doesn't take advantage of the Serene Grace.
Roost should be a great move for buying a few extra rounds, offering protection against the conventional weaknesses of Togekiss and restoring a bit of its mediocre but respectable HP.

I need a Cyndaquil. :( Since the rival took Chikorita, and it seems that no trainer outside of the Frontier has Cyndaquil, I can't add it to my dex, and thus can't get it through the GTS. That sucks. I hope it gets fixed next generation.

If you're going for four attacks, go with Air Slash (for STAB and flinch), Tri Attack (STAB and its secondary effect works well with Serene Grace), and then Aura Sphere and Shadow Ball for coverage. If you're going to do three attacks + Roost, drop Tri Attack. If you want to breed your Togekiss, you can add on Nasty Plot (egg move), and run that, Air Slash, Aura Sphere, and Roost. Unless I'm mistaken, Fighting+Flying hits everthing neutrally except for Rotom and Zapdos, so you get excellent coverage with those two moves. You could go with Shadow Ball over Air Slash to obtain perfect coverage, but the extra power from STAB and the flinch chance are really too good to pass up. You can get rid of Rotom and Zapdos easily with Tyranitar, although that limits your item options to Leftovers. Otherwise Togekiss will be losing too much health too fast (Life Orb + Sandstorm damage).
