The latest I have is Pearl and I haven't played in a while, but:

I like to go with the strong offensive attacks. I'll start with a weaker Pokemon in battle and have them switch out for a stronger one so that the weaker could level up.

As for preferred type, I prefer by water/ice and sometimes normal/ground type Pokemon. Squirtle is my favorite. Piplup
is pretty awesome too.

I need to start Pearl over one of these days; I got lost somewhere in a forest/route and can't find my way to the next town...

I recall there being this one program where you did competitive battling online (on the computer, not on the games) with other people. It was free. I think it was related to that smogon website... I forget what it's called. Anyone know?

You're thinking of Shoddy Battle. http://shoddybattle.com/

A new program is being made though. I think you can already use it actually.

The creator of Pokemon, Satoshi Tajiri, has Asperger's. It should come as to no surprise.

Still, it annoys me when you get called autistic just for enjoying Pokemon. It's a pretty AS game I admit, but stereotypes are always stupid.

I'm still a fan of the games. I was a fan back when I was six years old and got Pokemon Yellow. Then there was a period in which I disliked it, but it came back. Now, it's somewhat of a guilty pleasure for me.

I do hate the "Pokemon is for kids" thing. It's quite a complex game, and if you go to Smogon, you can see how it's being taken very seriously. It's SERIOUS BUSINESS.

Earthquake, Flamethrower, Dragon Claw, Dragon Dance.

Sorry, HLAK. Posting ROM links could get someone in trouble, I think.

I try to make a note to name the ones I use, often things of interest like anime character's names or things in mythology.

For quite some time I was trying to come up with a fitting name of my Typhlosion and ended up useing Vulcan which not only sounds cool but is the Roman god of Volcanos/fire.

My Rapidash's name is Inferno. I wanted to name my Houndoom Succube but I got her in a trade

Another interesting name I chose was Sumomo for my female Golem, it is Japanese for plum which is ironic on Golem being round but hard, and a strong female character in an anime is called Sumomo again ironic as she looks very cute.

I'm watching videos of Black and White right now. It looks like it's gonna be the best of the best!

latecomer to the topic so please excuse me if i ignored everything, i had a bit of a TL;DR moment with the 32 pages of the thread.

anyway, i tend to go for the 'slug it out' type of strategy. as for my attack preferences, i like moves with high PP and high accuracy.

by the way, anyone wanna talk about pokemon creepypastas? i love those.

EDIT: i hate the english names for the B&W starters. they sound really ret*d. 'snivy'? really? come ON!

I prefer Pokemon with high attack power and ones that can do a lot of damage, like Infernape or Totodile. I also like Pokemon with high Special Attack and Special Defense for some reason.

I don't like naming them. I feel weird when I see a pokemon with a unique name standing next to many other pokemon with their default names.
