I don't play a lot of fighting games or things that require lots of coordination.
So for me, hardest is a tie between Shadowgate for NES (I can't beat it without a walkthrough), and the Spyro:Year of the Dragon. The ones for playstation were fun, but I have NO idea what to do with this DS game.
Easiest is any of the Sims games.

First thought that came to mind for the hardest game I've played was 'I wanna be the guy'. On the other hand there are games that I'm genuinely just not good at. They are probably harder, since I can't just trial and error my way through it. I'm thinking of strategy games like starcraft, command & conquer, age of empires. I guess I haven't played them in a while but when I was younger I was almost incapable of forming a winning strategy. Without cheats.

Easiest I've played is probably Naughty Bear. It's easy to pass through the levels though it can be a bit harder if you want to go for higher scores to unlock stuff.

Hardest - tie between Zelda 2 and the first Metroid
Easiest - might have to be Twilight Princess

Hardest - Trying to 1CC Mushihimesama Futari Ver.1.5 on Ultra difficulty. Easiest - Prey. After the first ten minutes, you can't die.

Hardest - Jak 2, sequel to Jak and Daxter on PS2. God the amount of times I swore at my tv due to it's HIGH difficulty. I finally finished though after the 900th death and the 50th hole punched in my bedroom wall.

Easiest - I'd say the easiest I remember would be FFVII. Was very easy to overpower chars in that game. materia that can increase health and materia that can make you attack 4 times in one turn? madness :|

Hardest Game: Probably An Untitled Story, or maybe Banana Nanaba, I've played the hardest game ever (I wanna be the guy), but I couldn't get very far. For the hardest console game I've won it would probably go to the original Legend of Zelda, and the hardest one I've played probably goes to some other NES one, maybe Kid Icarus or Battle Toads.

Easiest Game: One of those flash games where you just push a button and win. The easy console game I've won would be Mario Party something.

Excluding fake difficulty, the hardest game I've played must be Dark Souls. Getting too cocky about anything will get you killed. Even something as trivial as rats. Besides, you need a separate tactic against every single enemy type in the game.

As for the easiest game, there are so many options. I'll go with The Witcher (1). The prologue was moderately difficult, but then I changed some things up and killed its boss with one hit. And by the end of the game, all I had to do was spam Igni against any who dared approach me. Didn't even have to draw my sword past chapter 4. Oblivion and Twilight Princess come close, though.

Hardest
Demon's Souls, can't even get past the first stage on most of the worlds. Have Dark Souls, but it remains on my self, taunting me Completed Ninja Gaiden on whatever the normal difficulty level was, that was tough but fair. Played some of the Megamans, but they also difficult. Call of Duty 2 on Veteran took a while, but managed it.

Easiest
Any of the new Call of Duty games can be run through in a few hours on regular difficulty. and seem to have no problems with the assassins creed games, they all very easy

The easiest game I ever played was the Ren & Stimpy game for the Sega Genesis. I forget the actual name though, it has been a while.

For hardest ones, it was probably Battletoads. Although I saw my brother play Ikaruga, and he got 99 lives (I think you could have actually do that in the settings) and won the game with I think 2 or 3 left. There is absolutely no way I could beat that game.

Hardest games: Home Alone 2, The Legend of Zelda and The Adventures of Link, Mega Man series, Metroid for the NES.

Easiest: The Little Mermaid for Genesis, Mickey's Ultimate Challenge (The easiest mode), Mario party series, 102 Dalmatians (both for Game Boy and Dreamcast), Kirby's Dreamland, and Kirby 64.

That's all I can think of for now.

Hill Street Blues (Atari ST) I don't think you could actually complete it once it became midnight and people started getting murdered it was very difficult to solve cases. And the interface was horrible

Xcom: Terror from the deep (PC/PS1) You can complete it but you will get through a lot of poor cannon fodder soldiers until you catch up with the alien technology

Easiest game? I dunno, I find a lot of modern games not very difficult these days even if you set the difficult to the top. You need a challenge not an ego trip to think your the man. I'm a fairly mediocre gamer but I could still do COD MW3 on the highest difficulty within a morning session.

Hardest: Soviet Strike, PS1.

Managed the first 4 levels in about 1996, attempted the fifth (and final) level a couple of years ago, but gave up about half way through. One of those games where you can't save within the level, and have to make an endless number of soul-destroying restarts!
