Duke Nukem Forever

I am going to have to say I have no love for the game at all. I do not in anyway consider myself politically correct and want to get that in before I say what I say are the reasons I did not get DNF. I was appalled that they felt it was okay to make jokes about rape or aliens raping women and that Duke himself also comes off as finding this kind of thing okay. It's not a subject that should be used as a joke in anway what so ever and it shows a total lack of respect to women that the makers of the game even found humour in this and allowed it to be bought into the game.

The graphics where tired and bland and also very washed out to me I had no inclination to play it after the demo as I felt no connection to Duke or any kind of empathy with him either. I was 16 when the orginal came out and loved it because it was ahead of it's time and I really saw the humour back then for what it was but this game no it has appalled me that they took 12 years not counting the litigation that went on with the different publishers shutting it changing hands all of that to then be given something that is just an insult to a game that in the past was pretty cool. I know some will say it's just a game it's not offensive and not to take it seriously I am from the same camp and would say the same but having known at least two women who have been rape victims I am not one who could stomach the game for it's crass and offensive way in which it dealt with such a subject and that's why as soon as I saw some of the reviews and trust me I read up on it that I decided that Duke had lost my respect to him as a game character I think that this has to be the one and only time that I deem that a game should have gotten banned in the UK it should have been this one. And it takes a lot to offend someone as jaded as myself. The publishers should be royally ashamed they turned him into a grotesque sexist uncaring narassicist that he is and they should never have let this game see the light of day. I for one will not be ever touching it. They should have just stuck with it being cancelled.

- The jokes were fine. Everyone ought to have known not to take any of it seriously. If you can't stomach it, fine. That's your problem. I'm pissed off that you think this game should be banned. f**k you. People can make their own decisions.

- The game did not take 12 years to make.
- Wasn't Duke always sexist and uncaring?

And let me get this straight, you haven't actually played the game? You've simply listened to someone else's review? A review set up to make you think the game is a piece of s**t?

Oh what so when someone else has a view that differs to yours you tell them they are not allowed to have that view for the record I did borrow it from a friend I have PLAYED it but I was disgusted and have just as much right to be as you do liking it so you know get off your pedistal and get over yourself. Oh so do you know any women who have be victims of rape? No thought not your points are pathectic and I am not going to sit here and be told to f**k off when I have point of view that differs to yours for GOOD reasons. Kindly grow up. I don't think the haters have even palyed the game theirs some on the "hate duke bandwagon" jokers who claimed they finshed it in 8 -10 hours hours yeah right they must be super hard core who played it on easy, if they did their not that hard are they ? in this day an age easy would be akin to putting Lance Armstrong/himslef on a bike with trainer wheels.

I played it on hard the game offered a fair amount of challange :D esp so the boss battles :evil: , Gamespot said the game goes on and on and on , well not really I just don't think 8 hours game paly is a real game :twisted:

Don''t know about you though I'd be happy if they still made games like Tomb Raider 1 ,2 , 3. 4. where it takes 8 hrs :D just to find a cog and mount it as oppose to finish it, looking at you Legend 8O you run and gun thing 8O

Still not a bad game though. :wink:
