Okay I'd like an honest opinion. Does this look cool? If it does, does it look better than when she was wearing the blue robes and sunglasses in the previous pick I posted? This setup definitely has a drastic DT bonus at 28 and it boosts my strength by 1 and gives me +15 Rad resistance. Plus it even makes the re-breather look cool so I put that on too... so I guess add water breathing to the bonus I get for wearing this setup.

Hehe and also I'm just taking the mini gun for a test drive. I thought it sucked but with the High-Speed Motor and Damped Subframe upgrades it doesn't seem as bad as it once was. It does 379 Damage Per Second 8O I hope it gets an upgrade for weight reduction... Geeze... 25LBs? :?

Given that I liked Fall Out 3 and and have played obsidians games like Alpha Protocol and enjoyed it got it on release day. Making a rifle using character with a focus on Guns/Lock Pick/and Repair; currently at level 25 with my favorite weapon being the sniper rifle as well as the marksmen carbine. Along with Boone and ED-E I have a team that if on the high ground will more then likely kill anything in range of our guns.

Of the three main factions I sympathize with Mr. House the most but will probably go NCR with this playthrough or independent and so far in most aspects been liking Fall Out New Vegas more then Fall Out 3. Granted however Bethesda is still my favorite game company but would prefer that they stayed with TES.

Power Armor always looks cool. :)

Hunting Deathclaws, with Cassidy as backup with the shotgun in case of a charge from a missed head shot. A decent trophy (one shot, one k-k-k-k-kill):

Where y'all setting up house? There's a tonne more places than Fallout 3 to make your home.

I've just been using the motel given to me outside of Dinky. Its little safe has some form of mass lightening/space increasing compared to its external dimensions tech as I have more weapons in it than you could fit in the whole motel room. :)

I'm currently wandering the land looking for new locations in search of unique items and xp. I feel like a god when equipped with my remnants power armor and my upgraded sniper rifle and mini gun. Sofar I'm still not using followers and nothing can really touch me :? I should have been using this setup along time ago :)

I've since ditched all other equipment. I feel the Anti-Material rifle has too many draw backs to bring it with me and I realized I only need one sniper rifle anyway so I just brought the silenced one. Plus if an enemy doesn't die in the first stealth hit I just pull the trigger twice anyways (With a silencer you can sometimes pull 2 stealth criticals) so it kind of makes a 20 pound A-MR a waste of inventory space.

Does anybody know of where I can find some quests? I'm level 26 and I feel like I can't find anymore... and I know there are more. I still don't have the trophies for "Return to Sender", "Arizona Killer", and "You'll Know It When It Happens" so I know I haven't found those quests yet. Also I don't have "The Legend of the Star" but I assume that has something to do with those bottle caps I've been collecting. What do I do with the Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Caps. I have 39 sofar. I've only been collecting them because a bunch of crap started happening after I found one and then a few more but now it's been forever since there's been another event and like I said I have 39. Does anybody know what you're supposed to do with these even if they aren't a quest? I mean I don't know if that's what the "the legend of the star" quest is but I'd still like to know why I'm collecting them :)

Return to Sender is an NCR quest from Camp Fornlorn Hope. Pretty lengthy actually.

You'll Know it When it Happens is one of the Pro-NCR final missions at Hoover Dam.
I think Arizona Killer is the opposite of it, the Pro-Legion version.

I don't know about Legend of the Star yet.
I'm kind of working on the bottlecap quest too. Just collecting Sunset Sasparprilla and drinking it to heal myself when I get hurt. I burn through it constantly. I know I got a bunch of star bottlecaps but I don't know what to do with them either. You're supposed to find a guy called Festus and get his treasure... maybe kill him or something. I don't where he's at though.

Thank you for clearing those up. Now it makes sense why I haven't found those quests yet. I still really want to know what to do with the bottle caps though. I wonder how many you need. I'm hoping only like 50 since they are so rare to get.

Um... I hope I don't sound stupid but am I the only one who doesn't understand the Wacky Wasteland humor? every time I get an encounter (Only 2 sofar) I look around in confusion. I actually have no idea what's happening when the events occur. This time just now I went into Broc Flower Cave while adventuring and the noise and symbol came up... but again like the time I helped the dude with his fake girlfriend in the intro... I'm severely puzzled. What am I missing? I can't even see anything that should strike me as funny or be taken as a reference. I dunno if it's because I'm an aspie or these references are just bizarre. The only thing I've found in here of any interest is a unique varmint rifle... although that wouldn't be cool this far in the game :?

Most of them are obscure cult references.
The Broc Flower cave one you probably wouldn't have noticed but it had to do with the rats there. They're specifically Rodents Of Unusual Size; some kind of reference to the Princess Bride.
I've only found a few others thus far. There's a Stars Wars one in Nipton, the Holy Hand Grenades in Camp Searchlight, the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull one near Goodsprings, the Attacking Grannies in Freeside and the Zybourne Clock one(which I don't get since I don't get the source material either. That's the one with the fake GF and the red balls).
I think the unique version of the Gauss Rifle is only available under Wild Wasteland also. The Mothership Zeta aliens are supposed to appear somewhere also.

Yeah I noticed after I killed the rats that they said they were of unusual size. Hmm... I'm thinking they should have left someone else in charge of the humor for the wacky wasteland perk. The loading screen constantly appears saying to only take it if you like a funny experience... I haven't found any of it remotely funny because I always feel lost when it happens. Anyway the only thing that sounds funny is the holy hand grenades. Around where is camp searchlight? Also I heard that the unique gause rifle wasn't in wacky wasteland and that there was the alien blaster? I don't know really.

I've got 46 star bottle caps now... I wonder. I remember a guy telling me about the caps and said watch out for some guy who attacks people with bottle caps. I wonder if after so many you get attacked while exploring or something. I hope so cuz I have no idea where to find the guy I'm looking for or the place I'm supposed to take them.

I found the Holy Frag Grenades and they are kinda funny I guess... just out of the irony of why would hand grenades be holy? Really though I didn't know if there was some sort of reference to them because again I didn't really understand the joke :? Also I hate any place with ghouls. Damn there's too many places with them. It's not as much as I think the ghouls are disgusting but moreso that they are always in some place I have to gulp down all my Rad-Away. I start to get really annoyed at watching the Rad meter fly right at the speed of light whenever I'm near those lame corpses. Seriously I think there's something wrong when 1 rad per second moves so fast. It really leaves no room to be perceptive. It actually pisses me off when I want to look around and I can't or I'll die. I've been in too many places today while exploring that had ghouls in them... also you can't help but hate them themselves because they sound so ret*d and move to match the sound. Seriously even after I kill them I grind them with my mini gun just because I hate them so much. If I could have an enemy removed from the Fallout lineup it would definitely be the mentally ret*d zombies... believe me  They are the kind of enemy you just want to slap the developer for making something that looks and sounds so dumb

Anyways... the holy Frag grenades are neat. They seem to do 715 damage for me with my character. I don't see ever using them though :( I only get 3  Seriously... there couldn't have been more? 715 DAM... what is that like 1 deathclaw... maybe? :?

CZ57 Avenger... I will never drop you

I was out exploring and found the unique mini gun. It's so nice I think I'll be using it pretty much whenever I have a character that specializes in guns. It has 14 DAM, 429 DPS, and weighs 18 lbs. That is opposed to the upgraded mini gun's 12 DAM, 383 DPS, and 25 lb weight. The only noticeable flaw of the avenger is that the mag is only 120 bullets instead of 240. The gun looks different too, but I think it looks cooler 8)

I've gotta name it though since it's my favorite weapon and it's hard to casually say CZ57 Avenger :)

Anyway... time to go rip the wings off some cazadores

I've found the sniper rifle + silencer combination to totally suck against Deathclaws. Sure, with the absolute bestest critical hit, you'll almost kill one in a single shot (head), but more often than not they tend to soak up a few head shots on the way to you after the initial hit, where there's a good chance you might die. For the "hates reloading" type, it's a bother. Super Mutants can fall to one shot, but not always depending on ammo type.

The anti-material rifle is the only firearm I've found to offer a guaranteed one shot one kill with a sneak attack on Deathclaws without worry that something may go wrong.

The A-MR is good but deathclaw hunt in packs. And one shot alerts them all to your presence not to mention you have to pull another gun out to make do for the A-MR's dreadful rate of fire. I dropped the A-MR and now keep a silenced sniper with me instead. It still takes out deathclaw okay but the deathclaw with more hit points require multiple shots yes, but you don't get the whole pack trying to rip you to shreds. Also I find the A-MR to be disappointing since there seem to be no upgrades for it when it severely lacks in many areas.

Seriously when I first started playing NV I thought the upgrades were a really neat touch. Then I realized they only made upgrades for low level weapons and if higher level weapons even have them they don't have 3... maybe 1 or 2 at the most. I also found that stores don't sell them frequently enough. For example I'm only now seeing tons of upgrades for weapons I would have bought upgrades for around level 10... but now I'm level 30... why would I even be using those weapons anymore (Seriously... I can deck out a hunting rifle... greaaaaaaaaaat :?) . A cool touch would have been weapons like the A-MR getting DPS upgrades or something around the higher levels but I'm not thinking that was done. Honestly there's a trophy for modding 20 weapons and I haven't even got more than maybe 10 or 15 because there's no reason to even install 20 mods in my opinion. I actually think they got tired of adding to the weapon models and that's why they stopped making more... hopefully they wise up and add more in dlc later as I thought the upgrades were cool.

For the unique Gauss Rifle....

YCS/186 Gauss Rifle

I find out from reading there is a catch to getting the weapon...

Quote:
The YCS/186 Gauss rifle is found at the Mercenary camp east of Brooks Tumbleweed Ranch. A Mercenary with Combat Armor is carrying this weapon. You need to either pick-pocket him or kill him to get it. If the Wild Wasteland trait is taken the YCS/186 is unobtainable

For PC Users, use console to retrieve the weapon.

I have the creature line of draw all the way up, so I can see the Deathclaws from a long ways. A single AM shot that kills one will make those around the now deceased one a little cautious, but they're usually too far away to spot where I shoot from (high sneak), so you can take them out in unison (a head shot is a must). Now, if you hit the Deathclaw with a silenced .308 round, there's a greater chance of it coming at your location when you have to take follow up shots (I found standard .308 to work the best; I haven't tried the high level handloads, so perhaps they may really help). Subsequent hits seem to give them an idea of your location. It's funny how Deathclaws seem to be a good yardstick for a hardcore creature (I just used bottlecap mines on them in Fallout 3, so they were no problem). I find the silenced sniper rifle to be best used against people, mutants, and other critters, like Giant Radscorpions. I haven't got to Power Armored folk yet (well, I didn't take on TBoS), but I'm betting the AM rifle with AP ammo will be the number.

I must say, Vault 22 was a way cool experience.

I'm wondering if the Gauss Rifle has similar power to the AM rifle, as I've been kicking up my energy weapons skill as I want to send 2mm death at everything (fond memories of Fallout 2). I guess I'll find out soon enough.
