Massively over-rated games

Anyone else like this ?

With shooters at least it's justified. You need a way to zoom in and aim your gun in a more accurate way. Halo doesn't have the same zoom features and it gets annoying having to fight so close-quarters and can only fight from a distance with scope-based weapons like sniper and bazooka.
Anyway, yeah I agree. For me it's the MMORPG games. Ya know, the online games about nights and dragons and castles and magic and all that stuff.
World of warcraft, League of legends, adventure quest worlds, runescape, etc.
I like these kinds of games but got sick of them because they're all the same generic, repetitive garbage. It's all about killling enemies to collect x amount of x, kill the big boss after, move on to the next area, find x amount of x out in the forest, go back the way you came and do this, do that, ugh.
I like stories that have a lot of little quests and activities to do, but not when they're all the exact same, unnecessary stuff in every online game.

And you can mostly blame World of Warcraft for that.
I had been into MMOs since WAY before WoW happened. And the thing about them was, there was actually alot of differences between each one. There were SOME similarities, but for the most part they really just didnt play alike at all. 3 of my favorites that came out in the pre-WoW days were the original Everquest, Anarchy Online, and City of Heroes. Each could not have been more different from the other two, and that was pretty much the case with the variety of others from that era that I played. There was lots of interesting stuff at the time.
And then WoW happened, and there was a Big Dumb Publisher Logic moment, where all of them in that part of the industry basically went: "WAIT A MINUTE. Look at that game, that World of Warcraft. It's practically PRINTING money for them. I've got like the BEST IDEA EVER. What if.... we COPY everything it does? That'll print money for US then! IT CANNOT FAIL!! !" So damn near all of them tried this, and the "different" and interesting MMOs just stopped coming, almost all at once. Some of the old ones like CoH stuck around after WoW appeared, but most died off fast after the copy-fest, as everyone was pushing all of these new games instead, even if they were all nearly the same damn game.
And for me this is all made worse by the fact that WoW in it's original form was a very direct clone of the original Everquest, which I was a fan of at the time.... blasted Blizzard.
^^^^
And the games that mixes up all top sellers like Dark Siders 2 , I shouldn't have been so easily fooled , I did like the art style must admit , but man did this game suck .
Dark Siders 2 = Prince - of War - WOW
Except for GTA and the odd shooter I simply can not play mainstream games these days .
