I have one and it's alright. I also have a DS Lite and prefer is because it can play GBA games and has better battery life. If you already have a DS Lite, I'd stick with that. But if you don't and you don't want to play any GBA games on the DS, get a DSI.

I have one. I prefer it over the ds phat, but I've never owned a lite so I cant make a comparison there.

A lot of the features on it are nice, but so far its a console that just has potential. I'd say go for it if you dont care about GBA games or add-ons that use the GBA slot, and if thats a showstopper dont go for it. Maybe in a few weeks/months/years that will change as new games come out to take advantage of it better, but for now its just a lot of promise.

I currently own the DSi, and I have owned the other two versions as well. The screens are noticably larger if you're used to playing on the other ones. It's neat how there is a shop very similar to the one on the Wii although I haven't bought anything with my 1000 free points yet.

I don't miss the GBA cartridge slot either since the Gamecube Gameboy Player is much better on my CRT-HDTV in progressive scan(480p).

You don't need a wireless Internet connection or points or memory sticks or anything, they just improve the functionality. Same deal with the Wii (except it's a bit harder to bring your Wii with you places and connect to wireless hot spots).
