I still play my Dreamcast, and even with all the current-gen stuff that's out now, I find myself coming back to it again & again (and IMO, the game industry in general was at its creative peak during the Dreamcast era). The console was way ahead of its time & pretty much all of the ideas that went into the DC paved the way for every console that followed afterwards.
It cannot be denied - the Dreamcast was the original "next-gen" console.
Also, I'm collecting games for the system, and I currently have the following games:
-Sonic Adventure 1 & 2
-Power Stone 1 & 2
-Shenmue (great game, and I plan on getting the European DC version of Shenmue 2)
-Virtua Fighter 3
-Fighting Vipers 2 (I have the European version - the game was never released in the US)
-the first Soul Calibur
-Space Channel 5
-Jet Set Radio
-House of the Dead 2 (bad voice acting & cheesy-ness FTW)
-Project Justice (the second Rival Schools game)
-Crazy Taxi 1 & 2
-Evolution 1 & 2
-Grandia 2 (great RPG, I'm currently playing through it again even though I beat it already. I also want to get Skies of Arcadia at some point)
-Phantasy Star Online
-Plasma Sword (the sequel to Star Gladiator, which is the game that Hayato (who is in MVC2) is originally from)
-Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (a badass fighting game based on the badass manga of the same name)
-King of Fighters '98
-Capcom vs. SNK 1
-Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (Honestly, I have no interest whatsoever in the 360/PS3 version of the game. It's basically just the same game with slightly smoother visuals & online versus matches - hardly worthy of my notice. If Capcom had actually tried to balance the game, then maybe I'd have been interested. It is a good game, and casual matches are fun, but the game is way too broken to be played seriously)
