I'd have to go with 5 and 6, then 2. 2 for nostalgia reasons. I actually just played 5 and 6 for the first time thanks to the recent Megaman Anniversary Collection. I was surprised that they really were different from the earlier ones, not just the yearly update that they were kind of painted as back in the day.

8 was good too. I'd like a real sequel at some point. Throw the full power of the PS3 behind a completely 2D Mega Man 9 :) I'd love that for a sequel to Symphony of the Night as well

Hehehehe Mega Man V. The Game Boy version. It had all the robots based off the planets. Back when I first played this (I was in the second grade), I was inspired to actually read solar system books in the library. It even paid off when I had to do a solar system project >8D

Who says games rot the brain? Not mine!

I never got to play that one. Would have liked to.

There was supposed to be a MegaMan collection of the Gameboy games for the GBA, but it never came out. It's release date just kept slipping.

I stopped keeping up with video games about the time that the Nintendo 64 came out. It was about 10 years ago, and I was focusing on my studies, and I got my first girlfriend about that time as well.

The only thing I don't like about Mega Man 2 is that if you are using the JNes emulator to play it, and you choose to have unlimited supplies of each weapon (it's a cheat). If you use the Flash Stopper, which you normally acquire by defeating Flash Man, it goes on forever, and you can't switch weapons again.

Usually, after I defeat Flash Man, I choose Quick Man as my second opponent, and I use the flash stopper to freeze the laser beams in the middle of the Quick Man round.

Tim

From the classic Mega Man, I love Mega Man 4 (NES) and 8 (PS1). MM4 was the first Mega Man game I played and MM8 was cool.

From the Mega Man X games, my favorite is Mega Man X4, that game gives you some clues about Zero's past.

Hmmm, megaman...

I enjoyed Megaman Zero 2, and it had great music to boot. But the Zero series is a lot tougher, at least in my opinion...

Megaman: The Power Battle, the old arcade game. Great fun. My brother and I played it for hours upon end.

The original megamans were the greatest, once the X series came off of the SNES it went downhill from there.

I enjoyed 2 or 3. I could NEVER beat Megaman 4, so hard. Megaman 5 and 6 were way too easy. Megaman 1 was hard but I found the trick to beating it (pause select to double damage on the last 2 bosses)

I've beaten every megaman on NES and SNES except megaman 4 (curse you megaman4)

2 is my favorite, with 3 right behind.

Ahh megaman. Great games. Megaman X for the SNES was the 1st video game I ever played, thus beginning my lifelong Asperger's-style obsession with playing video games.

I still maintain MMX as the best megaman game, but I also like the Battle Network series for the GBA.

I'm afraid I've never played the original series megaman games. Perhaps I should try.

You can pick up the entire series at once. Megaman Anniversary Collection was published on the Playstation 2, Gamecube, and X-Box, and contains all 8 games. I have to say they're actually better than I remembered them when I played through them again a year or two back, and I like them better than the Megaman X series (although that's just personal preference).

Megaman 2 for NES is the best straight up Megaman game you can find. Megaman X and X4 always did it for me in the X series.
