Yes PSP is very good just dont get the (PSP Go) just get a psp slim you can listen to all your music on it like an mp3 player you can watch videos on it as well as store pics. and on its network you can download old PSone games and psp games as well and download your fav tv shows and movies also it has internet. its advancing very quickly to being the most portable all in one media device it updates and all so I recommend it

Any more info would be great :) What type of battery does it take? Internal type, external, etc. Expected charge length average

The battery lasts about 8 hours at most but depending on what your doing with the psp as in internet and SOME psp games it will last 3 hours

So, from your advice is the 3000 series? Just not sure whether to go pre-owned or new. Might check my local Sony store, see what they have

Local Sony store was useless - THEY HAD NONE!! ! Still undecided about new/pre-owned and which to go for as some have selected games included and I won't play them all... I suppose I can sell the games I don't play on eBay or similar sites :)

Are those PSX games I could download for the PSP for next to no charge? Am I right? Some of those look mighty tempting...

If I were you, I'd just get a new one over a pre-owned one. Gamers will usually trade in their handhelds when they've overplayed them, and those handhelds will end up with a much lower battery life than a brand new one.

That's what I'm thinking. Although, I'm not sure how the battery's are in them. Are the integral, removable, etc?

They are removable, but last time I checked an individual battery costs around $30 each (I don't know how many UK pounds that is). If that's the case, it all just depends on how much less a used PSP costs over a new one.

You know you can refer to UK pounds £ as GBP :)

I don 't like the idea of a dying battery and then having to return it to Sony to have them replace the battery. Although the latest batteries are better than the older Ni Cd, they will still die

With my ADD, i've decided it's likely best if i don't indulge into handheld gaming. I'd rather download an emu and just concentrate all my games on my comp. I'd get too distracted in class or elsewhere if i had one outside of the house.

I just like the idea of something I can use to play games, videos, and music on the move. I hate some journeys where driving isn't possible, ie south UK to Scotland on a coach in 14 hours...
