Rare Atari Game Sells for over $5,000

These super-rare games pop up from time to time. I already knew about the $17,000 NES cartridge mentioned in the link. A few months ago, there was an eBay auction for a copy of Escape from Mount Drash for the VIC 20 (this is a very rare Ultima game). It went for about $1,800 and often goes for prices in excess of $3,000.

Personally, I don't have the money or the inclination for this particular madness, but I know plenty of people on the internet who do pay these prices.

I wish they'd hire critics who actually know about videogames to write their articles =/

I remember some videogame reviewer being all amazed that Metroid Prime 3 added this amazing new powerup called the Spring Ball!

Reminds me of the prototype to Mother/EarthBound Zero for the NES sold for about $6,000.
