A problem with a downloadable game save

A year or so ago, I lost my PS2 memory cards. They just vanished into thin air. On one of those cards was a game save for Mortal Kombat: Deception. I had every character and alternate costume unlocked. I have a new MK:D save on my PS3, but I don't feel like wasting months upon months of playing that boring-ass Konquest mode just to unlock stuff that should've been there when I first played the game. I tried downloading a fully completed game save of MK:D from GameFaqs. Put in on my PSP memory stick and stuck it in the PS3. Didn't work. Put it on my flash drive. Didn't work. I require some assistance in this matter.

Have you tried having your own save, then using the download to replace your current save? Is it for the same region?

I'm not one for savegames. But I do like to look back at the game and say "That's 100% my own work" Failing that, you ~may~ want to consider working for it all again. And perform a backup of your saves. There is nothing more frustrating to see that your saves have all been corrupted, lost, or someone deleted

Are you naming the folders correctly if you're using a flash drive for the export to work?
