I dont have a PSP, and most likely wont be getting one any time soon, but if I were, I would avoid the Go. I dont trust digital content, if its not physical, I refuse to purchase it because you have no rights and it destroys the used market.

Unless they start including a UMD ripper accessory in-box, then I would consider it. The chances of that happening are slim, though.

The ability to use your already paid for games would be ideal. I don't say own as the company that makes the game owns it, you just pay to play it as much as you want. Or to that affect, but yeah...

If you have a slow connection, it will take forever to download. 20GB would cost me £75 on my current internet connection. I have a pre-pay internet connection where I pay £25 for 7GB of data. That's expensive and no options above that. It's the only way of connecting to the internet for me, unless I were to go to a wi-fi area to download the content.

£75 versus £xx whatever the purchase is = copy on UMD would be FAR cheaper and faster

I'd consider buying a PSP something if there were more games for it that I'd play. Not saying the games on it are bad or anything, but there just aren't enough to woo me over.

Meanwhile, the DS is getting treated to battery recharges sometimes twice per week.

But I do not like the download only game setup. Even Nintendo's getting flakked for this now, with games you download to the DSI just being licensed to you, not sold to you. The accounts are nontransferrable, so if you want a new color DSI, you get to re-buy games. This problem is compounded worse by the new larger screen DSI that's launching in Japan; if we get it over here, players will need to repurchase systems entirely.

So what happens down the line when you have paid for some games and you need to return the unit under warranty? They send a replacement instead, does this mean you have lost your games, too? I'd presume, they would transfer everything over. But new console and buying new games would put downloadable content into "hassle" territory making it worse than ideal.

If everything about the -Go is accurate, the better system to get would be the 3000... I was fairly impressed with one when I saw one some years ago.

I know if your DSi craps out, you can send it into Nintendo and they'll fix it--but if you're out of warranty, you pay for repairs.

I also think they give you the option of purchasing a new one and transferring the account over, but so few players have had to do that since the DSi launch that there's little record of Nintendo's policy.

well if your PSP gets bashed lol they will replace it but if you have games as in the ones you buy and put in the system and they replace the system with the PSP go you wont be able to play them and you will have to re buy them on the playstation network but the thing is if you get the games on the PSN (playstation network) you dont have to buy it again because once youve downloaded a game your license that says you own that game is recorded permanently to your PSN acount. but if you buy the game not from PSN but from the store they dont count that because if it worked like that we could all just rent a game and get a license for owning it just for playing it. so sony is doing this to keep from losing money

Does the go have removable media? I presume this would be idea for transferring files to and from the device.

I'm still not convinced by the -Go

The discs and Cartridges allow you to use the game on any system and not have it locked in to one system which means you will never run out of space for games on one system.

Some people mistakenly think the Go is an upgrade. but it's aimed at newcomers to the area. Which is why the 3000 is still available. I'm not so sure on the hand controls of the Go, nor am I happy with the physical screen size being smaller

I bought a Go, and having never owned a PSP before, am farily happy with it. The size of the older models did put me off I'll admit. Having to download games with a slow as dicks connection is annoying, but I'm used to watching download screens. My biggest problem with it is it's pathetic online store. Yanks and Japs have an ok store, but the rest of the world gets a s**t load of disney games

You know you can use MediaGo to download the games and browse the store instead of the PSP. Once on the PC, you can transfer them over.
