I play DnD and am proud of the death and destruction that happens. I'm just wondering, how many other people play? If you do, could'ya share some of your storied? Or some of the fun things you did in order to mix things up for the players?

I do play D&D, although its alot harder nowadays because college and work take precedence over fun. I have enough crazy D&D stories to fill a short book, though some of the guys on the wotc website could write about 20+ books with room for 20 more.

I don't have much time to type, but a good event that recently occurred in one of the games I DM is the "Glasses of Inside-out vision." One of my players is a rogue who always insists on robbing whatever store or establishment we find ourselves in, and getting tired of his shenanigans, I gave him something that I thought would be utterly useless. However, I really didn't think about the seriousness of the object; think about it: a pair of glasses that makes EVERYTHING YOU SEE inside out! Needless to say a good deal of laughter and (well role-played) character insanity followed...

One group of friends might be giving up AD&D for some other thing called Hero System.

Another group of friends are giving 4th edition a try. It's okay so far, but it's some sort of starter kit, so most of the rules are missing.

I have way too many stories, and most of them you really did have to be there.

I think my favorite stories to tell are when we play with "noobs" and they don't quite grasp the concept of the game...for some reason they usually end up going PVP, and it's always great to see the DM and/or party members put them in their place.
