I've read from several sources that Facebook games like Farmville and Mafia Wars are chock full o'Spyware.

The ads on them are, yeah, and they try and make you sign up to those text subscription services too, the ones that offer "free" ringtones but use service messages to charge you £3 every week. That's how the company behind Farmville makes all their money, and they do make a lot of it too, over $20 million last year.

Facebook itself is loaded with spyware. You just have to make a choice. Don't go online. Don't do things. Or risk spyware.

If you avoid click on ads you seem to avoid most trouble and after being duped by one of those ads that poses to be something, but is something else you avoid them.

All that stuff about spyware on FB is utter codswallop, I very rarely get problems with stuff like that and have never had any malwares from Farmville!

Used to play Farmville, got up to level 25/26 then quit.

There needs to be a Farmville Anonymous

I know I'm an addict and there will come a time when I quit. But I'll enjoy it while it last. We need vices. Life would be bleak without them. I have even gone so far as to spend real money on Farm cash. Money I could have spent on a movie, video game, drinks at a bar. It's an entertainment expense. If it makes me happy and doesn't harm others then what's the problem?

I was a Farmville addict, but I've been abstinent for 36 days.

In all seriousness, like most things, I played it ALL THE TIME, and then just kinda got tired of it and abandoned my crops and animals to die a slow death.

One of the things I like about the game is get to create things. I remember getting a game called Ceaser where I just wanted to build a Roman city but this unseen emperor kept making demands I couldn't fulfill then eventually terminated me.

Farmville just lets you build. There isn't much challenge but that is precisely what I like about it.

Well I had to take out a certain blue knight from my farm and replace it with a 1000-? build of C.C.

btw 1000 x 125

Plus I think it only gave me like 10 levels or so. Also I finished it like a week ago...
