Hello.

If you have the first Neverwinter Nights game and are interested by its modding potential, you could be interested by my little project.

You can turn the heroic-fantasy RPG Neverwinter Nights in a kind of FPS-like in a contemporary/futuristic setting. What do you need for this ?
- Neverwinter Nights with the extensions Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark - no Premium Module required ;
- The latest (last ?) patch - 1.69. Download here ;
- The Community Expansion Pack, v. 2.1 or later ; works good with the current version (v. 2.3). Download here (v. 2.3) ;
- The D20 Modern Mod v.2.0. Informations here, files there.

I'm not creator of those stuffs, I just wrote this message to present you a project I'm currently making by using them.

It's an adventure where you are an elite soldier (you'll have to use a pre-created character) who is sent in a big and well-defended estate to eliminate the owner and stop his illegal and dark activities.

Here come screenshots from what I have already done :

The player after one minute of play. You have to pick up your gear in locker and boxes.

Gunfight inside a building.

For the instance, I only created some items (and modified pre-existing firearms), three areas and two models of enemies.
I'm really not good to manipulate scripts and variable but I can make cool things in creating items, maps and NPC.

If I managed to finish my module I can share it but I unless you understand the French I will after have to translate it.

If you have some questions... :D

WOW! Just...WOW. That is amazing! I'll have to tell my hubby, since he is the who speaks French :D I have always been interested in what one can do with the modding (is that the right term?) in NWN. I love both 1 and 2.

hnn yeah, since i played NWN1, i know that you can't pinpoint exacly which part of the body you're aiming at. (Well, it can be scripted into an ability, but there's less "skill" involved, as in using a crossfire and all...)

That's probably the biggest drawback i could see from your total conversion from a RPG to a tentatively FPS.

To be honest, calling my project a "FPS" was a little joke, about the fact that the module was an action-gunfight oriented one in a contemporary setting. :)

A few more screenshots will come later.

Some of the firearms used in the module.

Some little things I add to the game :
- weapons and ammos lootables on corpses
- knifes and blade weapons make targets suffering damages from bleeding
- some helmets protect from sound damages
- clothes protect slightly from cold and acid damage
- some clothes include a bulletproof vest, they also protect a little from ballistic damages
- electricity inflicts more damages to all human (including the player) than it does normally

The mansion you have to enter in.

A few words about interface and items.
In the shortcuts:
- F1 is the stealth ability,
- F2 is the reload firearms ability,
- F3 makes appear a dialog in which you can perform special actions from the D20 mod (e.g. jumping, crawling),
- F4 is a knife (its icon is messy),
- F5 to F7 are firearms,
- F8 makes you throw grenades,
- F9 makes you put an hidden bomb which is triggered when someone (including the player) walks on it,
- F10 is an adhesive bandage (same effect as the lowest healing potion).
In the inventory, the ring is a special item linked to a D20 mod system about job ; this one makes the module know that you belong to the Army and grant you freely the "light armour proficiency" feat (compulsory to wear your body armour). Under the sniper rifle, you see : the messy knife's icon, a kit which make you pick locks and disable traps without suffer a skill malus, the log is a scope for firearms (when you use it, it disappears and give some permanent bonus to the firearm you are wielding). Up the explosive trap kit is a medical kit (allows to heal wound, cure poisoning and diseases - limited use per day). Next to it, two syringe (poisoning antidote and cure diseases). The little box between ammos, adhesive bandages and syringes contains caffeine tablets (it gives a short speed and AC bonus). At right, several ammos calibers.

I should increase firearms damages. For the instance the knife does a lot more damages (especially with sneaky attack), which makes gunfights being ridiculously long. :lol:
