Anybody play games on their netbook?

Here's cNET's top 25 games for netbooks...

Since I bought my netbook I almost never take my laptop to school.

Can anybody suggest some good games to play between classes?

I think I'm gonna try Fallout 2 and Bladerunner...

I run Ubuntu on my Netbook (an Inspiron Mini), and I don't really feel like going through the trouble of getting things to work, or finding Linux versions of some games. I do play Battle for Wesnoth on here, though.

I have a bunch of Flash games saved on my school netbook, I play them in lunch times quite often when I don't feel like being social.

I have been playing Masters of Orion 2 since 1995. I could not get it to run on my newer computer that uses Vista but it plays on my net book that uses Windows XP.

I don't have a netbook, but but on my laptops, I always make sure I have copies of DOOM and Rogue handy.

I've been poking around steam.... think I'm gonna hafta try Aliens versus Predator classic 2000 and the Freedom Force: Freedom pack!! !

Freedom Force is a must play for every comicbook geek!! !! I still got 100's of models and skins for that game somewhere!

I remember when Freedom Force made my "game rig" groan!! ! Ahh, progress...

Oh, I see. So that's where Justice League Heroes, X-Men Legends, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance got the idea from.

If you like hack n' slash games, Torchlight is the perfect netbook title.

Also, virtualnes.com and virtualgbx.com might be the only gaming sites you ever need.

Start with Fallout 1, it is much more coherent, has better writing and world structure.

Fallout 2 is more grindy, sprawly, and lulzy. It certainly has a much bigger world, but it is a less together game overall.

And, I think I will try FO1 first... However, even though I can't disagree with your assessment of FO2, I must admit it's my favorite of the series!

I love the satire and moral complexity. There's just no way to satisfactorily resolve the Vault City/Gecko conflict!! !

Yeah, the original concept of the game was Silver Age Avengers but Marvel wanted too much money for character rights! So, Captain America became The Minuteman etc...


However, they also made the game super-easy to mod. Within a month of game release you could play the entire Avengers' lineup in the game anyway!! !!

There's still a very active modding community with thousands of 'real' comic characters available today! (google 'freedom reborn' )
