Recon armor in Halo 3-What's the big deal?!

Many Halo 3 players want the Recon armor really bad, but I say ''who care about it?''.I mean, honestly, it's not like if it is the beautifuliest armor permutation in the game (Well that's my opinion at least, tough I kinda like the chest piece), it doesn't give you any special abilities and it doesn't make you play better, do more damage or have more shields, so why do you want it so bad? I think it's because very few people have it, so if you got one, you look special. I mean think about it, if Recon was unlocked by default like the Mark VI or the CQB armor, then it wouldn't be that special. And imagine if it was the CQB armor that was Bungie-only, then everyone would want to have the CQB armor permutation. What do you think?

that's the main thing, I think. Recon's a status symbol/indicator that you've "clocked" most of the game (I haven't looked at the achievements list in a while and can't quite recall what you have to do to unlock it)
