Great graphics, great start, muddled story, gets monotonous after a while, highly linear like all the other "new-gen" games. The fight system is pretty innovative, as it makes you feel adept at something though you are just right-clicking and left-clicking. I can appreciate the technical cleverness that went into making Batman react to attacks with appropriate throws and string together moves smoothly.

P.S. I got farther in Dark Void than in Batman, because Dark Void actually changes up its game and environments, and it is, in places, quite inspiring.

It was ok, the stealth segments were fun, but all the bane-clone bosses and thug beat-em-up moments got really tedious after awhile, and after finishing the main storyline there was no real reason to keep playing...unless you're an achievement junkie.

it was a rental at best unless you really really like batman.

@monterland: understanble. Arkham did get really repetitive. I just hope it improves in the sequel

@darkstone100: I really really like batman :batman:

I really, really like Batman too!

Despite the repetitive/annoying bosses, I really, really enjoyed the game. I thought the predator/stealth parts were a lot of fun and some of the puzzles too. I hope the sequel concentrates on those parts of the game.

i think the game is great. and easily playable if you don't like all of the marvel comics and such like me, the fighting system is great and easy to use, and i find it really immersive.

Yep.

For me the definitive Batman & Joker will always be Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill...

and if their story is written by Paul Dini or Bruce Timm, so much the better!

The only thing wrong with Arkham Asylum was that it gave Batman the stupid "underpants over trousers" thing from the comics. It just looks ret*d.

there is always something wrong with batman

comics: wore cloth/underpants
60's: too campy
burton: many things, the main problem was that he wasn't able to fight. also we was weak. not fit enough
schumacher: EVERYTHING
animated: cloth/underpants, also got caught in traps WAY too easily. Not as much as west, but STILL?
nolan: voice in TDK, but that was post-production, not as much a detective as much as a fighter
AA: underpants

Let's see. I can't really picture myself sitting and playing a game on a tv for endless hours. And I had a huge stack of PC games to finish. Overall, I dislike games with platforming and forcing myself to like it is not so nice.

The end boss was fairly easy in comparison to the one before it, where there is someone everywhere.

I do like the achievement were you have to take down a thug without batarangs... :)
