An amazing video that showcases more combat and creatures from the upcoming MMO delivered as a manifesto by key people from Arenanet. They include some pretty ambitious goals that, as a MMO nut, I can only hope they deliver.

It looks good but doesn't come out at the same time as FF14 and Cata?

^^ Wooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, I believe I enjoyed this video very much indeed, thank you kxmode!

I believe I am certainly very excited. I believe that I played the original Guild Wars game for a very long time, and the happy little tune at the beginning of this video returned lovely memories to me.

After quitting WoW I pretty much swore off MMOs, but I'm still going to get Guild Wars 2 (provided it gets decent reviews), because of one key difference: no monthly fee. Without the monthly fee, I can just play the game when I feel like it without worrying about getting my money's worth or becoming obsessed. I can not play the game for months and then just start playing it again whenever I want.

And the art design is top-notch.

I still have a few characters that I'll play semi-frequently in the trilogy (I prefer to spawn them from either Nightfall or Factions though), if they're giving a lot more room to customize how the characters look/move/fight/think/dress/etc I really like that a lot and will have to look into this game further. The idea of some object permanence is interesting as well, the only thing that made me a bit nervous - no grind; some things you can't replace without some pretty big side effects. The only thing I didn't like about Guildwars is that it caps you at 20 and from there as your enemies get harder you have to hope that you're fighters simply don't corral subbosses or your main healer doesn't decide their a warrior - otherwise you're done. You might be able to get a little added something with lightbringer points or elite skills, that's it. I'm really hoping that by getting rid of grind that they aren't talk about even compressing that further.

Good thing there's no dedicated healer class anymore, then.
