How is LOTRO's online community???
Like, would I have plenty of people to play with if I started playing in the next few months???
I know its F2P now, thats why I've been thinking about joining.
I was thinking about playing WoW, but man....it just seems like to get good at that game and actually be able to participate in raids and stuff, most people would have to PuG until they got a guild invite from someone they PuGed with, and then make sure the guild is actually good at raiding to get anywhere.
That, and I don't like the amount of pressure they put on arrow key movers to switch over to WASD. I personally tried it out while I played WoW for the 1 year I played, used WASD for all but that last month and finally switched to arrow key moving, and man oh man, arrow key movement was SOOOO much easier for me.
I went onto gamefaq.com's forum for LOTRO though....it doesn't seem like they are pushing for WASD movers as much. But then again, thats only a small portion of the community.
Would I be pretty much forced into WASD movement and a ton of add ons to be able to play well in LOTRO??? Or would it be more balanced out to where I could kinda do my own thing???
Also, what would be a good soloing class???
Cuz I kinda wanna solo for a little while before I start joining groups. I find it nice to just kick back and enjoy the scenery for a bit while I'm killing mobs and doing quests and whatnot(like, when I started as a Gnome Mage in WoW, I stayed in Dun Morogh FOREVER just running around looking at stuff lol)
Please help!! !
Thanks in advance!! !! !

Visit the forums and find out which server has the most players then join it. IIRC I believe Brandywine has the highest population.
Well if it's F2P just join and play, what's there to think about?
Unfortunately you have to PUG, or join a fellowship, to take down very tough bosses and complete the books. There's no getting around this. I wish Turbine let you do this content alone but they didn't see it that way.
Everything in LOTRO can be fully customized. WASD keys can be remapped to arrow keys. The UI can also be moved.
I'm not sure if there is addon support in LOTRO so I can't really comment on that.
Most classes are decent enough for solo play, though a very good solo class would be Champion. Group dynamics are just the same as WOW. Tanks (Guardians) and healers (Minstrels) are in high demand. No one really wants to play Minstrels because they are so darn hard to level. I got one up to level 30 before burning out. Unlike Rune Keepers, Minstrels are the truest healers. That's really all they do and they do it well. The trade off with playing a Minstrel is the guarantee you'll group with someone in an area to knock out quests in exchange for keeping them alive.
You can also import .ABC music files into LOTRO and play the music. Any class can play these files but Minstrels have the ability to play a wide variety of instruments. Couple that with imported music and this class can actually be fun at times. You can also form a band and synchronize your performances. Players are willing to tip well those who can master "live" music; that is to say music created on the fly without the aid of ABC files. Making several thousand gold a night doing just this is not uncommon. Aside from the daunting task of leveling a Minstrel this is perhaps one of the best features of the class.
But given that you want to solo going with a Champion likely seems the best choice. You can also try all the classes to see which one you like. Unfortunately because this is F2P you are limited to one character. If you decide you want to try the different classes I would recommend reaching level 10 first, then decide if you like the class well enough to continue.
Hope this helped! Good luck with LOTRO.
