Ok, I've bought a copy of Starcraft 2 today, before it gets completely sold out, although I'm not going to play it until I get back from the three week summer school on particle physics that will be going to. Although I'm going to be getting a new laptop computer then anyway, the system requirements are low enough that I could even play it on the six year old computer I'm on now if I weren't short on RAM, which is in fact the only system requirement I'm short of.
I've obviously haven't tried installing the game yet but I've got a question for those of you that have. On the back of the box there is a notice in small print saying that you have to register a battle.net account (free) to install the game. Searching on the internet, I found that this doesn't seem like proper DRM, like the draconian kinds I've heard about in other games, but is rather just a product activation to authenticate your copy. What I'm not sure about is that most official sources, including interviews from Blizzard itself, says it's just a one time activation, after which you can play as much single player as you want offline, but I've also found a few comments from people on forums who say that the game requires reactivation every 30 days.
Ravenitrius, can you, or anyone else who's installed and played the new Starcraft, confirm for me if this is a one time activation only or if it has to be activated every 30 days even for the single player campaign?
