I decided to make this thread about what our favorite board games are.

I have to say mine is Risk because conquering the world is just kinda a theme that works for me.

Scrabble is the only one I play.
I don't think I've ever finished a game of Monopoly in my entire life.

It's not a board game, but I feel I should really mention Mille Bornes. It's a French racing card game. O_O

It's amazing.

Panzer General is another good board game. It's in the XBL Arcade.

I like Risk the most probably. Then maybe Monopoly, though the real life bankers seemed to have made this game a reality.

The Mad Magazine Game.

My next-door neighbor had it when I was growing up, and we'd spend countless summer nights on our shared porch partaking in its zany antics.

For those that have never heard of it, the best way to describe it is that it's a parody of Monopoly and other board games. It came out back in the 1970s, and the object of the game is to LOSE all of your money before everyone else. Along the way, it has you doing some crazy things, most of which I don't really remember, except that it was really goofy.

Does Dungeons & Dragons count? I spent weeks working on a module and drawing maps and then my friends backed out.

Risk just makes me upset, because I spend 20 minutes explaining the game to people and then they don't want to play.

If I thought it did, would've mentioned it too! I never thought of it as a "board game", per se. It is really fun though, although not the best dice-and-paper RPG, IMO. That is really uncool that your friends would do that though. Oh, and tell me you don't play 4th edition. It's like they tried to turn the game into a fantasy MMORPG, but with a GM instead of a server. That's NOT how it's supposed to be.

As for the Risk, that is so stupid and annoying. >___< That's how I usually feel about Nomic though.

I know I can't get anybody to play Nomic yet on here really, but I swear I'm going to finish this program I'm working on that will make it possible... sometime this summer! >.< I'm such a procrastinator.

3.5 is what I use. 4th edition doesn't exist to me, it's like fan-fiction.

Good man, good man. You still need to play BRP though. THAT is my favorite among the dice-and-paper RPGs.

Oh yeah, and getting back onto the thread... Basic Role-Playing. It's a fun system.
