My rant on the upcoming game being a total reboot of the series.

Let me know what you fans of the series think of all of this, please. :)

You have some valid points. Having never played DMC at all and getting some idea of what has happened to the series it would put me off touching it or investing time in it. That said I did get Bayonetta which is made by the same team who did the original DMC's I loved it and much prefer playing her over Dante if I had to choose.

I think putting such a series in the hands of a western developer is not a good move. Given what I've seen and done on Bayonetta it seems a bit insulting that has been done if it was that successful in the first place but then again in the games industry money talks and people sometimes get greedy I am personally one to reserve judgement but again you have got a point it's insulting to any fan of the series to do a "re-boot" of an old game that obviously was a huge success but hey that's the way it goes I guess.

Well I really have only played Devil May Cry 4 (also played Bayonetta like lazuruswolf) aswell as seeing the anime series, I was at first thinking that yeah you might be voicing what a portion of the fanbase might think, but since I had not played the first three games, maybe it could be good. Then I looked at the trailer on YouTube, now I see that your thoughts on it are pretty spot on.

One of the biggest part of Devil May Cry is not the kicking ass of demons, or the dark atmosphere, it Dante's character, that he can pull of being suave, and someone who can be cheesy, but his mocking behaviour, confidence but can make powerful demons look like playthings. He has the character of white hair which he makes look good, and some mild muscles, but this guy has a little tuft of white makeing him look like some punk who bleeched a bit of his hair and looks like a skinny little runt. It feels like you might have a better chance passing Bayonetta off as Dante instead of this guy.

I think the word is "Americanised", oh I can not wait untill the japanese fans get wind of this.
