Really, some peoples in Microsoft though about doing that;

Don't worry, be happy; soon your phone and your TV screen will listen and watch everything you do for offering a experience of proximity and reciprocity, selling you products with ads aimed to your unique personality and offering the opportunity to express your deep sheep feelings and bla bla bla... :roll:

Mmm...

That is kind of creepy. I don't want advertisers knowing when I'm in a room through a video/face recognition thing...
I hope there's way to opt out of that sort of thing.

I wasn't planning on buying a Kinect for two reasons already: first, the obvious lack of a 360 or desire to purchase one, and second, I played it at Gamestop a few Saturdays ago, but the gameplay was so downright awkward. I've pretty much vowed off motion controls because they just don't work.

Easiest solution....leave the LAN port unplugged unless you're downloading DLC or playing online.

Any game console or feature that mandates 24/7 online connection is something I will not own.
