Ok, so I assumed this would probably be the best WP forum to post this in ;)

Has anybody heard of this game? It's called L.A. Noire, it's a detective game, and it looks unbelievable. They've got a shiny new method for performing 3D facial motion capture, and so now you have a detective game where you actually have to do detective work. According to the video at least, the better you get at reading people the better you get at the game. I immediately thought of wanting it to, I don't know, train myself in the art of reading people? lol. It's probably what rock band is to a guitar, but still! This technology definitely has interesting possibilities!

As much as I congratulate them for their new shiny way of technology. The game itself looks boring. Not my style of game.

But the technology behind it is aweosme.

I love detective stuff, and I've always thought that a GTA styled game would be cooler if you could be the good guy...but I hope this one is more realistic and less "minigames you can do over and over again if you fail them" than the GTAs are.

If anything the facial animation will be groundbreaking. I'm hoping there will eventually be a PC release.
