you know what i'm talking about :P i don't even have the expansion yet, but i'm planning on playing cataclysm although i quit wow a year ago out of boredom. I'm just waiting for everyone to clear the quest zones so i can level in peace and not have a 28764 people queue while logging in. where are you guys at? i heard you need an escort quest to discover each new zone, and you need to have discovered a zone before being able to queue for a dungeon in the zone, is that true? that might annoy me...i like instance levelling...

My friend is already 85. He said it took forever to go from 84 to 85.

Edit: he said it took him around 20 hours but he knows someone who did it in 10.

Guilty. :P I hit 85 on my priest late on Wednesday night. 84 took me about 7 hours of solo questing in Twilight Highlands; 80-85 took about 25 hours total, give or take (I didn't really keep track). For the record, I wasn't in beta.

I didn't log in on Tuesday until about noon CST, as I ordered my CE from Amazon, but by that time, my server had already seen a few server firsts.

I did my first heroics last night. In comparison to Wrath heroics when people first started hitting 80, they are brutal (even level 70 heroics in early BC seemed a bit easy in comparison)... but they are fun!

oh gratz :P I'm in no hurry to level, i just wanted some heads up , if cata is more fun than wotlk because yes, indeed, i hated the heroics. like, hated, i missed the huge raids of BC, i was really nostalgic of mount hyjal and even kara ( at least they were fun!we had great laughs there...) so yeah it's good news you're giving me there, because when heroics are boring, everything is boring... that's a good part of the reason why i quit.
Brutal as in tactics or more "oops one-shotted"? man, i still have 5 days to wait.... my husband is waiting also for me to get my new pc, and we will level together. aint that sweet......

Ironic, being drawn to threads like this, as my parents are preventing me from playing WoW for the next year or two. :(

Is it really as good as they say it is, is all I can ask? :P

While I don't have any 85 yet, I have 3 toons @ 83 and a couple more @ 82. I also been working on leveling various professions as well. Just been taking my time with it.

Doing a Worgen warlock from 1-85 she is currently at lvl 55 I am not rushing just taking my time have other charcters in 70's 60's and one 80. I am in no real rush to get the level cap plus it's no fun with other people competing for the same resources and quests in those zones.Would rather take my own sweet time tar very much.

The validity of your opinion is questionable.
I've been playing since Vanilla Beta. Well over six years and I find that people rushing to get to 85 often have no grouping skills, do not know the basics of their class and in general are rude, disrespectful and generally trollish and selfish in behavior. All of those negatives in my opinion cause them to look like "noobs". That said, I enjoy having a twinked out character at various lower levels. Why just the other day I 3manned a Tempest Keep dungeon in normal BC gear. Can you say your toon is that awesome?
