Its a major feature in the category description for <Games and Video Games>, but I haven't seen it mentioned. Anyone here play chess?

I could beat adults at it when I was 8, but I have hardly played it in the intervening years. I love the game but have little interest in actually playing it (?).

I play chess.
I play quite well, but not anything like a genius at it.

I would imagine that some of the best chess players would have AS.

Same here, I'm avid amateur of chess. The one problem is... the only one who plays against me is my mother, and she is terrible at chess!

Went through a period in my 20s during which a friend and I played regularly for a while. When I was stoned I could play for hours.

I still like the game and enjoy playing from time to time - in fact I received a beautiful set for Christmas a few years ago and its only been used a handful of times. My ADHD tendencies will only allow me the focus to sit down and concentrate on the game at rare intervals, but when I do I really enjoy it. You can't play once or twice every three years and get really good at it, but I'm not a horrible player.

I've never gotten into it. I was average at it as a child. I would consider playing it more if I had someone who was interested in playing me regularly.

I was part of the chess team for 2 years and played with my father for a long while. I was okay at the game, probably could have become better had I wished to play more then I did. It just didn't feel the same after my father and I stopped talking.

Sometimes, in high school. Never won a match though.

I know how to play chess but I literally know NOTHING[i] about strategy. I taught my Father how to Play Chess and then beat me his first time out.

I love chess! It is my type of game...a game of STRATEGY. I sometimes play quite the game, but I sometimes make horrible mistakes, and then I have to play catch up, which is not easy when your opponents great at the game. I don't know how I got into the game, since I don't play it regularly. But it is quite fun.

Has anyone ever played 4 player chess? My gosh it is quite interesting to watch. There are more squares to accomodate the extra two colors and make sure you don't start off by immediately taking someone's piece on the 1st move. It adds more strategy to the game, and if you're playing a 4-way free for all, maybe an element of luck. You can also play teams, too. Or you can play 1-on-1 with two sets a piece.

I'm horrible at it, but yes - I do play chess.

I'm good enough. 2000 blitz on ICC. Have probably played over 15000 games in my life.
