Do you oppose SecureROM

According to ars. DA 2 has SecureROM, despite claims by EA to the contrary.

Apparently the users have not been advised of this. This is a worrying precedent for gamers and followers of tech policy. Would this impact your decision to purchase this game?

I have no idea. The thought of EA doing something, though, makes my stomach churn. I wouldn't put it past them. I am upset that they acquired Bioware in the first place.

I honestly never knew that people expected EA to be honest about DRM.

I wasn't going to buy it anyway, but if I were I'd be a bit less eager.

Not surprising. It is EA after all. I'll still buy it. I've never had issues with SecuROM in the past so it's not too big a deal for me.

I don't tend to base my purchasing decisions on DLC, but rather on game quality (which DA2 has, in spades), so I didn't really notice this. I thought EA and SecuROM were synonymous by this point, anyway. I do agree that Bioware staying independent might have been nice, though.
