I'm rather tempted even though i was burned in the past with empire total war I did quite enjoy the original shogun.

Though I didn't miss much in Napoleon total war by the looks of it.

Anyway at this price I might take the plunge unless anyone wants to tell me how awful it is on release. I seem to be getting quite positive feedback from other people for a change though

Im loving this game so far, the strategy side is more in depth. The tactical battles are more timing and force concentration than empire/napoleons geometry and angles based field warfare.

Its closer akin to medievalTW of course but faster somehow. Holding back and wittling the enemy down is just not an option in this game. I have no clue about Japanese field tactics so i just use the age old Alexander pin and rout with cav tactics when i can.

The game it self runs fine at medium gtx levels, AA on x2 and vsych on with a 3+ year old rig. Ive had no crashes freezes or slowdowns.

I got it anyway

Find it amusing that the game runs better on 2+ year old rig then some of these fancy new machines with DDR3 and i7 chips
